      I wonder why the eastern half of Eurasia-into-Alaska had few glaciers since they went *way* down in easter North America.

      Oh, thanks. As a kid (1970s-90s) US history books never really showed Lake Baikal, nor mentioned it was part of a glacier. *I learned something today!*

      Fun fact: North America is still recovering from the ice sheet that covered it at this time! The ground got compressed down from the weight and is still decompressing and rising

      What’s interesting is how far south permafrost was in Europe. Basically into southern France where the caves are with the paintings. Apparently one of the valleys was a reindeer killing factory where they found all kinds of cut reindeer bones and human artifacts. Valley is Vézère Valley.
