Surprised they’re not giving the detainees blankets infected with smallpox.

It wouldn’t be a Trump administration without negligence involving life-threatening disease and willfully causing increased exposure.

Fuck.  That just means it will spread into the surrounding commmunity.  Take note other communities – you do NOT want this around you.

Measles is one of the most contagious things that exists and it wipes out your immune memory.

That’s why measles is extremely dangerous. The problem wasn’t just kids who died or got disabled from measles, it was the kids that died from everything else they got because they had no immunity to it after measles.

just a reminder that this is 100% preventable, entirely the fault of the United States government, and things don’t need to be this way.

Remember the genocide of indigenous people included forced transportation, dirty barracks and smallpox blankets.

The Nazis learned from the US. James Q. Witman’s “Hitler’s American Model: The United States and the Making of Nazi Race Law” (Princeton). On the cover, the inevitable swastika is flanked by two red stars. Whitman methodically explores how the Nazis took inspiration from American racism of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries.

Project 2025 was the plan. „Stupidity“ was the cover.

Anne Frank and her sister Margot were detained at Bergen Belson, where typhus had been running rampant. They both contracted typhus. This coupled with the poor living conditions at the site, is what lead to their deaths.

Now we have Dilley, a concentration camp meant for detained children/parents, with an outbreak of measeles. It seems we have Bergen Belson 2.0 on our hands.

  8. Congratulations on your new dystopian society.
You can always ask the WHO for help. Oh wait…..

THIS is why we shouldn’t be celebrating despite Liam Ramos‘ relief.

There are still a SHIT TON of people in this hell hole like that two year old….

Sure’d be a shame if that nasty little virus made its way into the homes of those DHS folks.

I’m in my 50s and got a measles booster this fall. Just made an appointment and said I wasn’t sure I’d had both doses as a kid, insurance covered with no problem. Your county health department probably offers them too. So many people I know who were fully vaxxed as kids are having titers checked and finding no remaining immunity. Go get a booster if you can!

Gawd that article is so depressing. Someone do something. Make it all stop

PSA: Please get you and your kids and elders the MMR vaccine / booster!

Well if they die of measles, and disappear, we won’t question when they get trafficked.

  16. Is anyone else ashamed that their country’s federal government operates family detention centers?

    America is an utter disgrace.

Send HHS in there! They’ll have vitamins in one hand and raw milk in the other!

We see this in refugee camps – any situation where you put a bunch of people together put them at risk of outbreaks. Maybe doctors without Borders could move in or the international Red Cross – I think at least the Red Cross were working in the concentration camps during the second world of war so they have some experience.

Measles is both airborne and transmitted through respiratory droplets. This will be a hellscape. Please, shut it down and send in qualified medical and public health personnel. Please, Maga. WTF will it take?

Ffs, the spread of this communicable disease is preventable. **This entire outbreak was preventable and never needed to happen.**

  20. Reminder that Anne Frank died of typhus in a concentration camp. Those who die of illness in these camps are no less victims than those who are directly murdered.

  21. taquitoburrito1 on

We got down to 11 cases of measles at the lowest point. Now our government is bringing it back.

  22. And there are still MAGA voters willing to say that they are glad the president is finally doing something about immigration.

If this is ok with you: kids nearly dying of appendicitis, a formerly eliminated disease being spread, people eating food with worms and bugs and water that actually stinks to drink and make baby formula, then fuck you. You have no humanity left inside of you.
