      All land in the world is stolen by the people who live there now .  That’s the history of human civilization.  What a naive comment

      There’s actually a court case in British Columbia working its way through the system based on this premise. It’s an interesting point, but I don’t think most of the people saying it are ready to give North American back to the ethnic groups that controlled it pre 16th century.

      Extraordinarily out of touch. That’s not even exactly why people are angry. There are much bigger problems with ICE and our government in general.

      Edit: if you see people getting gunned down by trumps goon squad or being kidnapped and disappeared and you think “everyone is legal” before “we need to get the facials out of power” I dont know what to say to you. There’s an occupying force in Minnesota right now for the sole purpose of political intimidation and revenge.

      You’re all talking about it. If it got people to think about the injustice of what ICE is doing then it was worth saying, and more impactful than any number of trite statements people will scroll right by.

      It’s very much possible to simultaneously believe countries should have borders and at the same time not be so righteous about the persecution of immigrants just because you got here first.
