Both. He is both lying *and* demented.
And as an aside, kudos to Commondreams (the article source) for actually using the word „lying“ instead of the usual „misleading“ or other normalization-of-this-insanity language.

No this is just an example of Trump lying. Anything negative he automatically goes to a lot. Remember endorsing him or not it’s irrelevant. Trump automatically lies.
If the Republican candidate wins which has become a rare occurrence of late Trump takes full credit and if they lose then he had no association with that candidate. Trump has raised this to an art form!

The only thing he ever tells the truth about is what he wants. EVERYTHING is else is a lie.
He’s definitely demented, but why wouldn’t he lie? His cult believes whatever he says.
