It’s almost as if Tim Cook, asked AI: „how can Apple make the IPhone, an already overhyped piece of shit product, even worse?“

    2. I’ll pass.  I don’t see the appeal with flip phones.  The hinge is a potential weak point.

    3. They’re popular so clearly I’m the odd one out, but I just can’t wrap my brain around what I’m getting out of a flip phone to justify the extra cost and weight.

It’s not big enough to be useful for writing notes with a stylus or reading graphic novels and the screen size isn’t optimal for viewing horizontal videos.

Apple is starting to jump the shark

Slowly but surely they continue to edge further from what made them great and turn into another brand spewing out piles of crappy attempts.

    5. So the phone I have now with an extra step? Honestly I really don’t get the foldable phone concept in general. Just feels like adding a point of failure without adding much value.

    6. I hope it’s real, I love small phones. My 12 mini is still going strong but I’ll need to replace it eventually…

    7. what’s setting this apart from the z flip? Bc otherwise it’s just a copy that is 6 years late.

While I can understand branching out these days… why a Flip and not a Fold?

Im hardlocked with Android but at least id give a modicum of interest if the design was a Fold, and not a Flip.

It seems like the ultimate form for a phone is to be fully integrated into glasses or some hololens (like in dragonballZ) which i admit would be pretty convenient and free up an entire pocket that’s currently completely reserved for some type of phone.

Not sure if id be happy with a phone implanted in me brain though as that’d be the ultimate form for advertisers.

The longevity of all apple phones will keep me from buying this until this is the only option.

    11. I get the appeal of horizontal flip phones, basically a phone that doubles as a mini tablet, but what’s the point of a vertical flip? Space saving? Already fits into pockets pretty easy.

    12. This doesn’t make any sense to me. Why would they go this route instead of the larger folding style that turns it into a mini-tablet? They already have done a lot to unify the OS for iPad and Mac. They could do the same for iPhones that have that feature.

    13. I wish they’d just make a phone that fits in my hand and doesn’t have the worst bugs from updates.

    14. Id rather have a phone that has 2 sides a full screen. So i never have to switch front of back side when getting it out of my pocket!

Wow that’s exactly the kind of innovation I have dreamed from Apple.  Nobody else would had thinking of this kind of phone before them.

/s for those who need it

I don’t see the point of this style phone. OTOH, the ones that flip sideways to become full tablets seem pretty cool.

Didn’t another smartphone company already try and fail this concept?

Just give me back a fucking headphone jack and a phone with an actual home button instead of trying to magic press the button area without pressing the apps *located right on the same spot*.

Stop eliminating actual useful features for bullshit.

Love my Z Flip. If you take a lot of group photos, having a „tripod“ built into the phone is very useful.

Can also use Good Lock to make pretty much every app useable on the cover screen, and not just the handful that Samsung wants you to.
