Japanese voters: vote for the same party in all but one legislative cycle since end of WWII

Also Japanese voters: why is there no change 😡

You can’t make this shit up. Being elected on vibes and the dumbest populism with zero policies that solve the fundamental issues Japan is facing.

      – Demographics? No solution offered, there’s not enough money for comprehensive child care services.
      – labor shortage? Pretend there is none and blame the foreigners for any issues
      – inflation and net negative wage growth: let’s remove consumption tax for fun lol who cares about even more debt, zero plan for a virtuous cycle of wage growth. Slap a bandaid on it and call it a day.
      – abysmal productivity per capital, terrible work hours with zero output to show for it: eh back in showa we worked harder and were grateful for it (not true)
      – ballooning debt payments due to central bank (rightfully so) raising rates and cratering yen? 🤷‍♂️ did you see foreigners kicking a deer in Nara? 😠

I was disappointed when a lot of my close Japanese friends told me they supported sanseito but if the elections once again hand the LDP a super majority I will need to disconnect for a while. How stupid can people be. Scandal after scandal and utter disregard to solve political issues. Nonstop lip service and zero action. It’s a joke.
