The polling has been all over the place only 3 polls since September have had the conservatives in the lead although one is a tie technically
Bc greens stagnant
Living under an NDP government is one of those things that sounds like the right way to go on paper and in theory but in practice it quickly becomes apparent how poor a choice that actually is. But experimenting once in a while is fun and can be educational.
>A Leger poll to be released Monday found 44 per cent of respondents said they would vote for the NDP, while 38 per cent who said they’d go with the Conservatives.
Not exactly super concerning, but the BCCP has no leader right now.
>The poll, which was conducted online from Jan. 23 to 26 among 1,003 B.C. residents, found more than half, or 54 per cent, believes the province is on the wrong track, a figure Mossop said indicates a strong desire for change.
>In addition, the government’s disapproval ratings are up on a number of issues, including housing, health care and the opioid crisis, as well as the economy, provincial-municipal relations, and reconciliation with First Nations, said poll results.
I think it would be hard to map out what people want for change here. Sounds like people from all across the spectrum are upset, and many of these issues could have both sides upset for different reasons. BC has a lot of environmentalists who are upset about LNG expansion and the possibility of a pipeline, but you have a lot of Conservatives who want more pipelines and resource projects; the BC NDP itself is probably somewhat split on this matter. Conservatives and progressives typically have very different views on reconciliation in the province, too. I don’t really envy Eby’s position. Even though I imagine some parts of the BCNDP base are upset with him, he and the NDP are probably the only thing standing in front of something much worse.
