Grizzly bears in Iowa just seem wrong.
The historic range of grizzlies included all of Nebraska? Are we sure about this?
That’s a whole lot of desert and grassland…..
No timeline ? Are we talking ice ages, no sources. Basically a map with colors and an animal title.
I think the theory is they preyed on bison, so the historical grizzly range is going to be similar to the bison

We have grizzlies on Vancouver Island. The map does not acknowledge that.

I’m surprised they’d get right up to the edge of the ozarks and not inhabit the entire area. Don’t bears like wooded hills/mountains?
Black bears, wolves and coyotes had a historic range from coast to coast before colonization.
The Mexican grizzly Bear was declared extinct in 1964.
