i understand that sugary beverages are the biggest culprit, but i think that the real way to deal with this is to tax all added sugar products with a scale of some sort. but also, directly taxing sugar, sugar type sweeteners (corn syrup, etc.). that scale could include a criteria for the total amount of added sugar and also the other nutritional content of the product.
