Warum spricht dieses Land über KI, als wäre es eine Tatsache des Lebens, gegen die niemand etwas tun kann?

  1. The most amazing thing about Americans is their complete inability to change anything about their country.

I’m a lurker in this sub.

My question is genuine: Why are we reacting to its unbridled eminent destruction of social fabrics like there is nothing anyone can do about it?

Whatever happened to persistent and methodical removal of the useless representatives in Congress who cowered for lawless AI?

Those that control the purse strings have sold us out for the AI genie. I call it psychological derangement but they call it being visionary.

  4. Because of capitalism that’s why. Capitalism and money in politics… to help the capitalists keep capitalisming

AI is peak neoliberalism. Once it has destroyed the social cohesion (such as it is) and concentrated unimaginable wealth in the hands of a few, the uprising and revolutions will begin. Reset to 1950s – if we’re lucky, reset to 1750s if we’re not 😔

Because they’re being paid by these companies to push articles out that are nothing but catchphrases from interviews. It’s their attempt at marketing their company’s stocks.

There may be a trend that smaller companies will advertise non AI products/services in the future but the monopolies that exist are so big that any alternatives will only be affordable to the wealthy.

  8. Because all AI models are developed by corporations and they are more afraid of losing the market rather than break something in society.

Because corporations promoting AI value profits over human beings.

Because they are entwined with government who have failed miserably to protect its citizens.

Because wealth and power is concentrated in the hands of a few.

If anything changes, it will be up to everyday people to reject AI’s use in domains where it provides no benefit to humanity. But that requires existential introspection that’s lacking for a generation so accustomed to using AI as a shortcut to “everything”.

They are salesmen, that’s what salesmen do. They’re selling AI, AI powered products (security, software, glasses, robots) and to each other an AI workforce.

    Holy fucking US egocentrism.

The WORLD isn’t giving up on AI, nobody cares about the US in that regard. We have Kimi K2.5 that can now compete with SOTA models and it’s FOSS, if the US gives up they lose the AI race.

They’re speaking like it’s unchangeable because it is, the first group to truly harness AI for the potential it has will stand a strong chance of winning earth if they want to go that route.

They’ll have an even stronger chance of just becoming the undisputed economic powerhouse of the planet.

modern society even do anything about the elites who they damn well know run child and sex trafficking rings, at this point expecting the global West to do anything that gets in the way of Billionaires plans is laughable after all the other wrongs they have gotten away with.

Unless the bread and circus stops, then the people will sleepwalk into anything their overlords demand just like peasants have always done throughout history

    Wake TF up

There is too much money. $trillions are being spent on AI and they want to ensure that whatever it becomes is profitable for the 1%

Because if someone can build it…

And if there’s even a chance it might make a billionaire richer…

    It’s gonna get built.

Are you saying you want to be the only country without AI?

That would be like unilateral nuclear disarmament. Sure, nukes are dangerous but the only thing worse than having them is not having them.

Because the people that *actually* want it control the narrative. The owner class is gonna force it on us if we let them.

When you’ve fooled so many to invest billions in something you either lie and play it up or lose your shirt. Guess which option all these CEO’s have chosen.

You should look for an image of that Palantir billboard in Butte right now.

    It’s quite aggressive

  19. Because the people who control the flow of money are the ones pushing ai. The „country“ is mostly a handful of conglomerates and elite billionaires with their pocket politicians blazing a trail of ai so fast we can’t react properly. Nobody is reacting like we *cant* do anything; its that our means of trying to make meaningful change goes through avenues that take forever compared to a trillion-dollar company constructing data centers faster than the legal processes can keep up. But then as consumers? There isn’t much you can do when your existing products incorporate ai outside you stop using that product. And people are starting to, starting to react. But that takes *time.* It takes time to find and switch to alternatives. And unlike our politicians, which we get a chance ever few years to hold an election, you can’t exactly petition Microsoft to *immediately* stop pushing ai outside of just refusing to use their product.

You’re asking why people are acting like the inevitable is happening when facing an inconceivable amount of wealth and power that has consolidated in the last 20 years in a way this country, or any other country, isn’t prepared to handle.
