I understand the logic they have applied in the article to explain how it’s calculated, but why is this not applicable in Scotland?
I rented for years under private rental tenancies and we didn’t have to do tax returns for LBTT?
Anyone able to explain?

Stamp duty is a bad tax, it discourages selling and buying houses. Hopefully we can see real reform instead of another exemption and more complications. I guess lawyers gotta eat though
