Tends to happen when you colonize and/or invade the blue multiple times

    2. Germany is about #18 in the world in terms of nominal GDP per capita, so not surprising. From the marked blue countries only Sweden and Austria is above them, and a few select countries are dragging it seriously down – notably Belarus (only 1/6 of german GDP per capita) and Ukraine (1/10 of german GDP per capita)

Was born in one of Blue’s poorer countries. It’s not optimal, but at least I wasn’t born in Gaza ig.

    4. I think Romania GDP per capita is bigger than the combined GDP per capita of Germany, Chad, Burundi, Liberia, and Mali.

The Greek economy between 1960-2008 was higher than all Balkans combined. And before some mean spirited person mentions fraud, we weren’t in the EU until 1981 and Eurozone until 2001. We also had a dictatorship in 1967-1974

If you would just take the Nordics, then they would have higher GDP per capita than Germany.

    7. Nevertheless, our dear chancellor says we aren’t working enough and an economic minister named Reich (German word for empire or rich) wants to cut part time employment guarantees.

Well this is certainly very…uninformative and expected. Germany has a high population and eastern Europe hasn’t fully recovered from their period of communism, duh.

I dont really see the point of this, its just population of germany being massive compared to whole eastern europe. Sweden and Finland are equally developed and similae gdp per capita than germany.

People tend to underestimate the true size and effiency of the German economy, this relatively small country which is the THIRD global economic power.
