I’m always surprised no SSNs yet for the Indian Navy. And a bit surprised they didn’t continue the partnership with France on submarines, since Scorpene is highly successful and Barracuda ready for the next class.

The Indian Submarine fleet is wild.
They have 6 French, 7 Russian 4 German and 2 Indian Submarines.
It says an Indian company will build them, so what is Germany’s role here? Consulting? Parts?
Wow, they decided on some quality kit for a change over whatever the Russians are willing to sell them.
If anyone is curious, Perun has a very good video on the Indian military (its situation and equipment), but also their procurement and why it’s such a massive and hilarious mess, which ends up in them having extremely good and advanced kit alongside 1970s stuff.
