      Umm… how many coloni… err… territories does France, Denmark, The Netherlands still have? And how long did it take Germany to finally acknowledge its genocide and colonialism in Namibia and Central Africa?

      Europe positioning itself as a counterweight to autocracy is great in theory, but actions will speak louder than speeches.

      I love the EU. Goods follow markets and people follow jobs, everyone uses the same rulebook and new members are welcomed. Sure, assholes like Trump and Putin try to tear away at the EU, but it will survive in better shape than Russia or the Yanks.

      Well… we can say that mainly due to the fact that US shifted so far into imperialism and autocracy that we stand out by increased contrast. May be an accomplishment, may be simple happenstance. But, again – European specialty – these are words and interpretations. We need actions.
