      It’s not a „formal travel warning“. Not even „advice against travel“ which would be the next-lower level.

      It’s just an advisory, right below the winter storm:

      Newsweek is regularly posting wrong headlines on reddit to boost their views. And they are very successful doing so

      These warnings should come with a „We wont help you if you get into trouble“ disclaimer. If you are dopey enough to go on holiday in the US, you shouldn’t suck up time and resources from the foreign office if you get chucked in a detention camp.

      It’s a little far fetched the state department (Auswärtiges Amt) notes the situation in Minneapolis and reminds German citizens to stay away from protests to not get involved in violent clashes between protesters and law enforcement and to follow instructions from law enforcement. This is long standing general advisory about interactions with law enforcement in the us and safety concerns in larger us metro areas. They just now recognized the situation specifically in Minneapolis.
      There is absolutely no formal travel warning!!! No advisory.
      No 1 issue is the winter storm.

      As a Canadian I hope this means more Germans visit Canada for travel. I work in the outdoor industry and Germans tourists always have a great time.
