    Fuck maga.
They seriously thought that threatening all of us would work.

  2. Friendly reminder Johnathon Ross still hasn’t been charged with Renee’s murder

We still don’t know how many of them shot and killed Alex

DHS’s move to oust Bovino and Noem is just a wet fart.

    Makes noise no substance

    Just Minnesota?

Because… MAGA has been wrong way before now. Way before Jan 6th. Way before a lot of things.

  4. Neat_Gas9264 on

Anyone who didn’t already know it until Minnesota was fucking asleep.

A gameshow host is dictating civil policy for 300 million people. What do you expect?

While I think the situation in Minnesota and the US as a whole is still extremely dangerous, I am beginning to see two factors that could successfully thwart MAGA’s attempt to follow the Nazi script to fully implement a fascist dictatorship.

First is the unlike in 1930s Germany, the U.S. is deeply divided. The Nazi party was extremely popular in Germany so there was not much popular resistance as there is now. I worry its still not enough and I’m incredibly disappointed and worried that so many other people in positions of power are so feeble in their fight against MAGA so far. But the fact that more than half of the population disagrees with Trump and everything his administration is doing is a good sign.

Second is that we have access to extremely powerful and precise recording devices and the ability to share what they capture with anyone that will choose to view it. 100 years ago, the Nazis had nearly full control over information, and could hide nearly everything and broadcast only the information they wanted to be seen. Today, every American can record crystal clear video of what’s happening and post it to the internet for the world to see. So while MAGA and the propaganda engine that includes Fox et al are still very powerful and effective and controlling the narratives among the consumers of that media, they have relatively far less control over it all than the Third Reich possessed.

Its still all extremely scary. But these two factors mean we have a fighting chance of surviving this that Germany in the 1930s did not.

Caution, this isn’t over. Greg Bovino is a celebrity troll boy, made for photo ops. None of the policies have changed, the Kavanaugh stops will continue. The ICE squad and Border Patrol are in Minneapolis and the metro area.

  8. Minnesota should be proud. They stood up and continue to stand against intimidation and lawlessness to protect neighbors, friends, and family. By standing up, they have already made real change, with the demotion of Bovino and Noem in hot water. Everyone should celebrate that and recognize the literal sacrifices required to achieve that. That said, the work is not done.

The Republican Party will be looked back on with contempt and disgust and that is all. No honors, no respect, nothing.

Are we just going to pretend that Minnesota “won” now? The occupation isn’t over. Bovino should be rotting in prison but instead he’s going to go get a nice cushy retirement while some other ghoul takes his place.

I hope the media isn’t going to start trying to trick people into thinking it’s over.

This is the way to fight … make it so visible that the light shines bright on their fascist actions. Make them scurry like cockroaches.

MAGA is wrong about everything so that’s not super hard to do. But props to MN for being strong and doing the right things even when it’s difficult.

  13. MN is proving them wrong, but this isn’t over. Don’t count wins until it is… and even then, it will never be over for a number of people who lived through the trauma of this nightmare. It’s only a democracy if you can keep it.

So it takes two US citizens to die for any kind of opposition.. 😔

  15. jasoncross00 on

Unless they thought they could murder civilians and then cuss them out and clap, with impunity.

    That is proving entirely accurate.

  16. No, it proved that you can ONLY brutalize/kill brown people. Once govt started using those tactics on the white population, that was a step too far.

  17. “No application of armed violence can make the men with guns as heroic as the people who choose to stand in their path with empty hands in defense of their neighbors. These agents, and the president who sent them, are no one’s heroes, no one’s saviors—just men with guns who have to hide their faces to shoot a mom in the face, and a nurse in the back.”

  18. El_Grande_Chonk on

Yeah, but it’s not like they care about the objective reality, at this point it’s just a consolation prize for sane people.

  19. Angry_Foamy on

Minnesota has bested ICE since settling there. These clowns are nothing new to those intrepid folks.

  20. The work is not done, they aren’t leaving.  This is just the beginning

  21. Everyone better start planning their trips to Minnesota. I can’t wait to visit this place of such courageous and kind Americans.

  22. Bob_the_peasant on

Declaring any sort of victory at this point is complacent and irresponsible

  23. IMayhapsBeBatman on

That’s not really how MAGA works. We’re in a post-reason environment now. MAGA is much more like a religion then it is a movement based on „proof“.

We were always at war with Eastasia.

  24. i’ve been texting with a friend in Minneapolis since Goode was murdered. they live in the same general area, said George Floyd was around there. they’re getting real tired of being portrayed as a bunch of agitators. they’re hanging in there, but it’s tough!

  25. Not surprising. If any state knows how to deal with ice of either sort, it is Minnesota.

  26. Stellar_Nurseries on

No. MN didn’t prove shit. ICE remains fully funded and the state is still under siege.

  27. Also helps with immigration. What state would you want to go to if you are an immigrant and want to make sure the population is welcoming and will fight for you if things go bad. With good social services, high pay, and lower then usual cost of living compared to other comparable areas.
