Don’t think the numbers might be correct. Checked with the agricultural authorities of my country that monitors/have the data on such here, and they give other numbers than this. Quite big differences.

Might be that the numbers are the raw milk, not just the milk one drink. Hence why consumption being big in such as the netherlands and switzerland (cheese-nations; cheese made from milk).. So maybe „milk-consumption“ is a bit misleading… Don’t view cheese-consumption as milk-consumption… or any other product made from milk (yoghurt etc).

Btw. regarding the finnish numbers.. Their [statistics ](https://www.luke.fi/en/statistics/balance-sheet-for-food-commodities-statistics-discontinued/balance-sheet-for-food-commodities-2024-preliminary-and-2023-final-figures)themselves says 85L pr. persons as of liuquid milk and 130kg of liquid milk products (cheese, butter, youghurt and other stuff ?).. (2024) numbers)

Czech people usually replace milk with yoghurt, or other dairy products. They have an aversion to it.

As for Finland, I recently read that – on average – females are endowed with the largest mammary glands. I wonder if there is a correlation with milk consumption?

btw, what exactly constitutes as „milk“ here? Is this only about consuming milk as a raw pasteurized liquid, or does this take into account countless of products where milk is used a ingredient (cheese, cream, butter, bread, pastries, sauces, chocolate, desserts, cocktails, soap, pharmaceuticals …)

And how is it measured? By volumes of the products sold in supermarkets?

    4. I guess that’s only cow milk as a liquid? The legend could be a bit more specific. There’s many other animal milks, plant milks, processed milk etc.

Must include cheese yoghurt etc and export/import or these numbers are doubtful.

I drink around a litre a day, possibly a little more. Usually six litres a week from the supermarket, plus two flat white coffees which are 150 ml of milk, at work.

      Ooh, that’s 7.5 litres a week!

      Am in NZ, we Dairy.

    7. Are all of them with cow milk? Or other kinds of milk like goat? Or reindeer milk in Finland?
