Trump ist insgeheim frustriert darüber, dass er inmitten des Chaos in Minnesota Gefahr läuft, die Kontrolle über die Einwanderungsbotschaft zu verlieren

Yeah, masked thugs attacking citizens and legal immigrants and violating civil rights is probably not a good look.

that ship sailed a while ago.

anyone not seeing it for what it is (authoritarianism) is just lying to themselves

Setting the stage for shooting citizens and kidnapping 5 year olds, and the thousand other examples of oppression…

The „immigration message“ is loud and clear.

What message is that Don? Could it be ‚Do what I say, when I say, or be labeled a domestic terrorist threat by my militia ‚?
Could that be your message Don?
      Fuck you, Trump.

      >Trump has sought to take control of the narrative, starting with an impromptu press conference on the anniversary of his first year in office.

      >The president, at times sounding exasperated, thumbed through mugshots of individuals arrested in his immigration crackdown, highlighting their alleged crimes. His message was clear that while there might be some issues, ICE is necessary to follow through on his agenda — to deport the most dangerous criminals back to their home country.

Just incredible sanewashing here. That press conference was unhinged. Trump confusedly flipping through those photos with long awkward silences only showed how decayed he is. His message was anything but clear.

The US is generally anti immigration and it would be so easy for the right to win this.

Refocus on actual criminals instead of just as many people as possible and the approval polling would skyrocket.

But that goes against Steven Millers genocide plans.

Here’s an idea. Move your ICE goons to Texas. Heard there’s a big immigrant population there.

All he had to do was recruit more agents and pretty much keep the rest of the stuff the same as the Obama years. Give the arrested proper due process. Tell agents not to wear masks. Hold ICE and Border Patrol responsible when they violate people rights. Don’t deport people to random countries or prisons.

A lot of people wouldn’t like the ramp up, but at least peoples rights wouldn’t be violated and there would be some accountability. It was Trump’s administration to lost the narrative when they decided to go full racist and ignore people human rights. It wasn’t even necessary for them to accomplish their goal.

Trump just guaranteed a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants and migrants. He demonstrated that mass deportations in the interior of the country would devolve into chaos. He created a situation where your average person has to choose between masked men abducting people in vans, or a path to citizenship. Even if the average voter supported immigration enforcement before, they likely don’t now.

There was no way mass deportations would ever go smoothly, it was always a PR nightmare and now he lost the momentum the republicans had on immigration.

Credit to Minnesotans for keeping it peaceful enough that he can’t use the manufactured excuse of insurrection no matter how hard he tries. The optics coming out of the protests just don’t look good at all for Trump. Children being detained, clergy being rounded up, people getting pepper sprayed at point blank range or shot in the head by gestapo…hard to call it an insurrection with those kinds of images

    11. The only message that ICE is sending is that Trump is a fascist, and ICE is his secret police.

“‘Do we want these arrests to be so chaotic? No, we don’t,’ Vance said”. The “arrests” are chaotic because they are happening without any due process, and observers are being denied their first amendment rights, it isn’t bold to say that if this administration heeded the constitution in *any* way, which they **swore an oath to uphold**, this chaos would not exist.

    13. He made a mistake doing this in Minnesota.

He should have made his big stand in some Red State that would put up with that shit.

Good job all you Minnesotans! Prove to America that our Constitution and Bill of Rights matter!

    14. He will take his gestapo, leave the city, claim victory, then harass another city and state to provoke them to violence.

      >“He wanted to do that briefing in large part because he himself wanted to bring out the mugshots that we had printed for him,” a senior White House official told CNN. “He wanted to remind the world of why ICE is doing what they’re doing.”

They’re talking about him like he’s in senior care, what the fuck America.

He still hasn’t figured out that

      1. Mass deportations are actually pretty horrible in practice, something that Americans are waking up to right now.

      2. That letting his idiotic henchmen (Miller, noem, Homan, etc.) double down and run their mouths on national television, while also encouraging their goons to be even more violent, is sinking his numbers deeper under water.
