It’s always the ones with the long history of mental health, known in the system and considered to be dangerous.

    Who would have thought?

    >Despite living in a residential home supporting people with mental health problems, Debella was able to buy a hunting knife over the internet.

Considering that 1 in 4 men that suffering with schizophrenia inevitably have a violent outcome someone should have probably been keeping a better on eye on him…

    >Debella did not appear in court to hear the verdict. He had previously been judged too unwell to stand trial for murder.

You think? he’s literally forking crazy… Mental health trusts receive about 13% of the NHS budget, yet mental health problems account for 23% of the total disease burden in the UK, don’t be surprised when we see something similar happening again in the future.

  3. Care in the community needs to end. He should have already been in a secure facility.

This is a bit of a strange phrasing, I feel.

It looks like he was allowed outside. So then, he trivially could have just gone to IKEA or even a specialised knife shop and bought a knife. There is nothing special about a hunting knife, the 8 inch one you have in your kitchen and use to cut veg would have done the job just as well.

Or any number of generic objects. I mean to be honest a 20 year old bloke could kill a grandma with their bare hands if they really wanted to.

Basically this sort of person needs to be in a secure facility, you can’t rely on simple measures like just stopping them from going on the Go Outdoors website.
