  1. Unfortunetley Poland is still reliant on US for defence and that will be the case until there’ll be a viable alternative in the form of European Army.
As leftist sometimes say morality has a cost and is sometimes a priviledge. I think sadly in this situation we do not have a priviledge of having a spine.

  2. KKK on the picture (Krzysztof Kosiniak Kamysz)… or Polish Baser al Assad due to striking resemblance (he is also a doctor)

PSL, Farmers party used to be a party of compromise. They were in the government regardless the victor of the elections.

Anyhow, hesitance in criticism is indeed kind of irrational, however it makes sense at the same time.

We are kind off in a good position. Government criticizes Trump and stands behind the EU.

President endorses Trump, and approves everything he does. Simultaneously, there is a very vocal disagreement between Polish gov and president.

We just have to wait for this shit to pass.

  3. They should put together a coalition with all of Europe and more. Then stand up all together. America has no will to go to war against Europe. Europe together could also do major economic damage to America.

Why should they? In such a sensitive geopolitical place is not smart to antagonize both deranged Russia and deranged US at same time, and doing it because of Greenland is even below not smart.

Knowing how and when to pick your fights is a quality.

Most likely it’s because there is war on our border that kills apx 40k human beings monthly. That changes the perspective

Risk our safety for a brief satisfaction of calling out a narcissist imbecile?

What’s in it for us to get involved? A pat on the back from Reddit libs? This Greenland fiasco is already blowing over anyway.

  8. Cause we were not „ cowards” in 39 and learned a few lessons about diplomacy.

OP, would you like to lay out your level of geopolitical understanding and we can meet you at your station?

It would also be useful to know if you’re a Polish national or not? I, myself, am not.

It is easy to play the strong man on the internet when in the end other people have to die because of your words.

Approximately 70% of our most critical defence systems against a potential Russian invasion are manufactured in the United States. All technical support and spare parts, whether or not delivered, are decided in Washington. They can render our defence ineffective simply by delaying updates…

So Poland and the entire eastern flank are essentially Washington’s hostages.

We cannot openly oppose them, but we can, and do, demonstrate that things can change. Sending German troops to Greenland with a Polish charter served as a signal that Poland will support Europe if things go bad.

When/if a common European army is created, when/if European Federation is created, we can say f* off to the US.

  12. All EU politicians are cowards )) Trump is their teacher, the master Coward.

  13. With what’s going on behind the border and the fact that we’re not strong enough to deter or stop Russia by ourselves, we need to play it safe.

USA is the only strong global power on „our side“.

  14. Poland is choosing its battles wisely. Picking one with an influential ally when there is a constant threat from the East is not on the short list. See other comments for better understanding.

  15. After decades of bending down and spreading your cheeks its that much more difficult to straighten up and grow a spine in place of that gaping void..

  16. I think they’re trying to hit two birds with one stones WKK and Nawrocki is best mates with the US. Tusk deals with EU. Sikorski both.

It’s a legit strat and so far it’s working. Once we’ll have a bigger army we’ll be able to say fuck off in most of the cases.

Please note that we’re not the only ones and we’re not completely kneeling cause we didn’t join Trumps latest invention.

Polish politicians are like tightrope walkers, balancing between the need for strength and the fear of losing support, especially with the US safety net under them.

  18. You thinks politicians that can’t admit air quality issue will not be cowards?

I dare say Canada has a much more integrated relationship with the US and more to lose than Poland by criticizing Trump, yet Carney didn’t mince words this week in Davos. I don’t understand how one could be against Putin, yet in support of Trump. They wave a different flag, but their methods are eerily similar.
