I’m the OP – apologies this isn’t an explicitly Canadian article as I couldn’t find one. The issue is likely that there is so much nonsense that happened this week. But 158 Canadian soldiers (+7 civilians) died in Afghanistan, with over 2000 wounded, and many more forever impacted by the effects to families. We have sacrificed many times for our relationship with the US, and what it has come to is an utter disgrace. I say pull out of CUSMA. Appeal to US veterans who know Canadians from their times together on the front lines.

Edit: and maybe someone more knowledgeable can fill in here, but my understanding is that from the intensity of Kandahar actions alone, Canada lost proportionally more than the US in Afghanistan. In any case, it’s not just the insult here, it’s the permanent damage to democracy. What an utter cowardly moron.
