  1. Again, misleading and wrong map. We never use Hijri in Egypt. Most egyptians don’t even know what Hijri year this is. I’m sure it’s the same for most north African countries like Morocco and Tunisia! Hijri is maybe only used to observe Islamic ceremonial stuff.

I’m sorry but most of these countries probably use the Georgian calendar at least 90% more than Hijri one except maybe Saudi Arabia. Hijri calendar is mostly only used for religious purposes

Most of the middle east and north africa region use the ordinary „2026“ calender, the other calender is just for the religious ceremonies

  4. In Israel the Hebrew calendar is used officially alongside the Gregorian calendar and by many religious Jews (with a minority using it exclusively), but most people don’t use it regularly. The majority won’t know which Hebrew month it is, much less the specific day of the month.

Nope, Malaysia predominantly uses Gregorian either on daily use or business basis. Hijri usage is unofficial and limited only to mark Muslim holidays or events.

You will never see any official documents using the Hijri calendar. Not even the agencies under the Ministry of Religious Affairs (only handle Islamic stuff).

  6. People say the map is wrong but he never said it were officialy used only that they exist

  7. The map is fine, but the title is misleading, hence all the comments.

In most countries, especially in businesses, people use the Gregorian calendar. This map is showing the traditional calendars, which were in use before the Gregorian was accepted. In many countries, the religious holidays are based on these calendars, and that’s why those holidays fall on different Gregorian dates each year.

You could include all of the countries in the commonwealth as the fourth year of King Charles‘ reign.

  9. ???? in india as per the hindu calendar its currently like 2082 or something

  10. Surprised to see the US hasn’t made up some unique “convenient” system for once. Like you know, 0 is old and year 100 is today or something like.

China uses the Gregorian calendar. Literally no one uses the year „4723“ as the current year.

Fun fact, Taiwan and North Korea are in the same year. Just so happens that Kim Il Sung was born the same year the Republic of China was formed.
Also unlike a lot of the others on this list, Taiwan uses the ROC year in official documents.
