I know I’m not meant to pity those guys, and given it’s a „tradition“ it’s not a new phenomenon, but with 34.000 men KILLED in december only, I can’t help thinking it’s some sort of „social/ethnic“ cleansing.

So, you know what this psychoterror is:

**Dedovshchina** is an unofficial system of bullying inside the russian army in which older soldiers create a parallel power hierarchy and terrorize new recruits to break them and fully control them – in practice it works by forcing newcomers to perform personal services (cleaning, laundry, extra night duties), endure physical abuse (beatings, exhausting “punishments”), psychological humiliation (public shaming, sleep deprivation), and often hand over money, food, or equipment, effectively turning it into organized extortion; the goal is not training but control, frustration release, and the destruction of individuality so soldiers obey out of fear, while the system sustains itself through a cycle where victims later become abusers, commanders historically tolerated it as a cheap tool of discipline, and the result is traumatized, demoralized troops with low cohesion, which today also shows in the poor performance of the russian army in real conflicts.

Great. So when you finally get your rifle with ammunition, you already know who you’re aiming at first.

Russian culture on display. This doesn’t come from nowhere. There is no pride, respect, or generosity. This is all just top-down power struggles with predator/victim dynamics… Russia in a nutshell.

They don’t show the raping. Because that is a huge part of it, Rape is actually a big part of Russian culture.

Ah yes, a stunning display of culture.. just in case the new recruits needed a refresher on exactly what they’re fighting for.
