Ein Brasilianer, der ein Reiseunternehmen leitet, wurde am Mittwoch von der Polizei in Tokio wegen des Verdachts festgenommen, auf Besichtigungstouren für ankommende Besucher illegal umgebaute und schlecht gewartete japanische Sportwagen eingesetzt zu haben.
Die Metropolitan Police Department sagte, Danilo Gomes da Rocha, 34, habe in japanischen Sportwagen Touren mit ausländischen Touristen durch Tokio und Umgebung durchgeführt, die einen Jahresumsatz von rund 200 Millionen Yen generierten. Das in Tokio ansässige Unternehmen wurde ebenfalls an die Staatsanwaltschaft verwiesen.
Der Verdächtige bestritt die Vorwürfe und sagte, er wisse nicht, dass die Fahrzeuge schlecht gewartet seien, so die Polizei.
Die Polizei behauptet, er habe Einzelpersonen damit beauftragt, am 21. November 2025 gegen 22 Uhr zwei defekte Autos im Tokioter Bezirk Koto zu fahren. Die Autos hatten modifizierte Abgassysteme, um sie lauter zu machen.
Die Polizei begann mit den Ermittlungen, nachdem sie im Herbst letzten Jahres einen Hinweis erhalten hatte.

I want to know how the police knew they were poorly maintained.
I am just going to assume they were illegally modified and never „inspected“ by law.
I was always under the impression that driving people around as a business without the correct permits was a big nono here I assume because that’s not what he’s arrested for he had that covered.
But that kind of calls into question the poorly maintained part. If he has the foresight to get the correct permits, why would he skimp on shaken? At least, I assume that’s what the article means when they say poorly maintained, it didn’t pass shaken?
Arrested for a loud exhaust? Usually if you get caught with this kind of thing you get a fine/ have to do shaken again, so I’m curious why they’re being so harsh. Are they gonna arrest all the Japanese with loud exhausts like the bosozoku bikes I always hear driving around where I live?
200 million yen a year?! Does anyone know which tour group? I’d be interested to see their list of cars.
