The article lays out some of the uncertainties regarding the membership, role and operation of the new Donald Trump led „Gaza Peace Board“.

It’s unclear how many world leaders have been asked to join, and the large number of invitations being sent out to countries that don’t get along, has raised questions about the board’s mandate and decision-making processes.

A Trump reference in the invitation letters saying that the body would „embark on a bold new approach to resolving global conflict“ suggested it could act as a rival to the U.N. Security Council.

However many major world powers have either rejected the invitation to join the board(like France) or are holding off on giving an answer(like Israel and Russia). Israel, in particular, has many voices in its government who are opposed to the very formation of this Board because they want freedom to do what they want with Gaza and resent being subject to decisions by an international body that includes many countries they distrust, like Turkey and Qatar.

It works by them giving trump money to join. Once that’s done there’s no further purpose needed.

The whole thing is another way for trump to swell his bank account.
