      He’s a status quo guy. Which is certainly better having a fascist and I would vote for him if it came down to it, but I’d rather see someone younger, with new ideas run because the status quo isn’t working. Wages have been stagnant for too long, minimum wage hasn’t changed since I was in high school, we are probably past the point of no return for climate change and we need drastic changes immediately or the younger generations will suffer more and more, we need someone to hold the pedophiles, oligarchs, and fascists accountable for their actions, we have to redistribute wealth, and we have to completely overhaul the education system.

      I just don’t see a status quo person trying to make the changes we desperately need.

      Edit: Wanting someone who better fits the needs of the working class isn’t a purity test.

      They really think Trump has credentials. It’s fucking laughable. He had no credentials compared to Harris, Biden, or any of the dozen Republicans he’s beaten in primaries… Let’s see them compare him to an astronaut, Navy pilot… They’re fucking delusional!!! HOW FUCKING STUPID CAN YOU GO MAGA!?!?

      Id vote for Kelly, I just dont know if he’s got the juice to win everywhere else outside of Arizona id have to see him make a few campaign speeches

      Dems id be enthusiastic to vote for – Mark Kelly, Andy Beshear, Jon Ossof, Gretchen Whitmer (still think we should run a dude this time unfortunately)

      Dems Id be meh voting for- Rueben Gallego, Josh Shapiro, Pritzker

      Dems id vote for solely because they arent the republican but id be pretty sure theyd lose – Gavin Newsom, Kamala Harris, Pete Buttigieg, Tim Walz (had him in Ok but I think the stigma from the Minnesota child care fraud would be too much to overcome)

      When the pugs are out of office NOBODY will be brought to justice and the cycle continues.

      Kelly would have to run as a reformer. We need that to be done before fixing the many problems we have. A reformer candidate needs to be pretty broadly trusted. He might be able to be that candidate.

      Would I prefer someone else? Absolutely. Do we need someone else? 100%

      With that said, if it’s between Newsom and Kelly? It’s not even a close comparison. Kelly at least talks the talks where Newsom cucks himself daily on right wing talkshows undermining himself and policies.

      You know, I would happily vote for and see inaugurated the first POTUS who is a retired astronaut. Space-obsessed little kid me would be so happy.

      Probably would be such a boring President with no crazy overnight threats (I mean tweets) to try and comprehend.

      I’d vote for him in the general election. I think he has a good heart, but I’d rather have a true progressive. However, I’m not willing to have another fucking Republican if I can help it. You better believe I’m voting for a progressive in the primary.

      At this point I think I’m in the depressing acceptance stage of realizing the chances of us getting a progressive president has the same chances as getting a woman president.

      He isn’t my number one by any means, but I’d have zero issue with a Kelly presidency and would be happy to vote for him

      I really hope so. He would be the perfect choice. A moderate and popular combat veteran. His background is flawless. Unlike other potential candidates, he has no real baggage. He would be just what this country needed to undo all the damage trump has done to this country. Some progressives would grouse about which means that he’ll have to toss them a couple of bones, but he’s the exact type of person who can chip away at trump’s coalition.

      Kelly isn’t my first choice but he’s qualified and, even if I’d love someone super progressive, he’s the type of candidate that could win. He could have a progressive VP to bring to national prominence for future elections too
