I’ve said this before on the sub – I’ll never forget before the election at a time our nation needed some of the hardest hitting most substantive analytical policy possible… And he was ranting about plastic vs paper straws….
I have a good feeling that if he holds on to leadership we may see a few more crossings.
There are a lot of Progressive Conservatives that are getting sick of the empty theatrics. With Carney being a Progressive Conservative – Blue Liberal/Red Tory it just makes sense.
They were all just holding on under PP with the hopes they would get to govern and now that is gone.
I honestly wonder how long the CPC stays united with Progressive Conservatives and Reform/Canadian Alliance. I think they will give it one more go under PP and one more go under a new person and then if still not government we may honestly see a fracture.

Carney is doing well in the eyes of the masses so he’s seeing a spike more then PP seeing a decline I would expect.

It depends where the issue sets go, as has been noted the issue sets over the past couple of weeks have been absolutely terrible for the Conservatives. Any day where Trump is in the news is a bad day for Poilievre, and that increases tenfold when he’s threatening Canada. Perhaps the world will calm down, the economy slows down, and people start focusing on domestic problems. Or more likely we will see these threats continue to escalate, and the situation just gets worse and worse for Poilievre.
Ultimately though, this speculation will most likely be irrelevant. He’ll probably get a good score in his leadership review, and then immediately suffer more floor crossings, and get stuck in opposition for 4 years.
