Just don’t forget to bring the body bags when you invade us, America.

It makes absolutely zero sense for the USA to antagonize or be at odds with their northerly neighbors. It’s quite possibly one of the most illogical things that a President could do — both economically and from a general policy standpoint.

  3. We have already seen a map where Canada is already annexed by a child rapist and a lunatic, so of course they know they are next.

What is this????? Literally nothing in the article mentioning how insane this all is. The US media is so complicit. Holy shit. Wake up America. Your fucking media is owned by billionaires. Wake the fuck up.

Canada is the Poland to Greenland’s Sudetenland. If Trump gets away with taking iver Greenland and Nato is destroyed as a result Canada would be an easy followup

  6. Candid_Cat_5921 on

The same rhetoric being used on Greenland, Venezuela and Cuba are being used on Canada. There’s a 100% chance Trump has had the military draw up plans for strikes on Canada

  7. Greenland is the Sudetenland of the 21st Century. If Trump and his Project 2025/Heritage Foundation handlers seize it without major consequences, then Canada becomes the modern day equivalent of what Czechoslovakia was to Nazi Germany in 1938.

Why the hell are our media outlets continuing to normalize his madness? Trump needs to be flushed down the sewer NOW!

We need to get on a war footing, because WE ARE next. This is the way America is now, and we have to adapt

This is a lousy reporting of Carneys speech, and not surprising that it’s from a US perspective that can’t seem to reflect on itself.

This speech announced a rupture to America’s power and a shifting away from its dominance. This speech was an earthquake across nations marking a new phase in international relations – one in which there is no return.

It announced the truth that we all know but we’re afraid to admit: the USA is no longer a trusted ally – they are an enemy out to enslave other nations. Allowing your country to subordinate itself to US demands is no longer an option.

Pair that with plummeting value of the US dollar today, and countries choosing to stop sharing intelligence with the US, and you see that the US is now on its own, without any friends, permanently.

Trump wants Greenland to cut off Canada from Europe – plain and simple. If the US had Greenland, Canada is effectively cut off from the rest of the world – trade and security become much more difficult.

Why is every news company forming titles like this is just another news story? Stop trying to normalize it

If Canada does not want to be „next,“ they need to guarantee Greenland is not „first“ by immediately deploying several hundred troops there to occupy and protect key airbases, and locations alongside Danish and other EU troops.

Its all fun and games until Canucks decide the Geneva Conventions are lacking some modern updates.

When being call upon, the entire globe needs to stand up against the US. it is for the survival of the entire species.

In other news, Mexico is expected to announce that it is paying to build a wall, but even bigglier.

Better to fight with Greenland than to let the US pick us off one by one.

Any Yank that thinks this could actually go down is dumber than the world thinks you are. Bonne chance

I really don’t want to have to plant car bombs in the vehicles of an occupying military force…

    Let’s be friends instead.

This conversation assumes a unified threat from the US.
All Canadians need to do to prepare is pop up some corn, sit back and watch their neighbor to the south collapse into a full on armed insurrection.
When it’s over, they’ll be a whole lot less stupid people in the US, with Canadians and what’s left of „America“ all  happy again.
Universal truth- in the long run, evolution favors intelligence.

  22. Have fun invading. I heard insurgency is your achilles. I can be loud and self centered too. I look like you and can hide the aboot. Although I refuse to believe the actual people of America will let this continue.

  23. These are wars the United States could just never win. It doesn’t even matter that we have a stronger military, because even if some or most of it followed the fascist in charge into war, the American people at large **do not** support this. The country would completely fall apart. I’m talking like states seceding from the union kind of fall apart.

Its the people behind Trump doing this. Vaught, Musk, Thiel, Bannon, Trump is too dumb to be this aggressive.

What a world we have come to. A crazy orange man has panicked every major superpower.

Canadians are acutely aware that it’s entirely likely that Greenland being taken, whether by purchase or otherwise, would likely embolden Trump to try his hand at Canada next. This is why we are particularly annoyed at Europe’s weakness regarding Trump. They failed last year when we were threatened, and we found ourselves the one ones (besides China) who actually stood our ground.

Now Europe is facing pressure and it seems only Macron & Carney are fully prepared to actually dig a line in the sand and say enough is enough. For us, Greenland is nearly existential insofar as it’s a good litmus test for how fucked we are.

Carney for his part is doing extremely well, and I believe he’s positioning Canada to try and coax Europe into its own sort of middle power BRICS equivalent to hedge against the US, Russia & China.

That’s very likely what NATO will become when the US inevitably backs out, a middle power alliance of Liberal Democracies

  27. I love driving in the US and have many friends there but I will regardless never forgive them for the past year and beyond. Anyone not in the streets can go fuck themselves. Invade us I dare you. We will make sure to use everything we got put into the geneva suggestion to get you out.

  28. Comrade_Cosmo on

The US’s main defensive advantage is that its enemies have to cross an ocean to get to them. All he needs to do is start antagonizing Mexico before they attack Greenland and the US might find out real fast what fighting a war without an ocean between you is like.

I guess despite the discovery of the transistor, we are heading down the fallout timeline after all

  30. sorrybutyou_arewrong on

If he invades a friend, and yes many of us still consider Canada, EU, Mexico etc friends and congress doesn’t remove the motherfucker then we’ll be in the streets doing things the hard way.

    Fuck this timeline.

I hope all of the countries being threatened learned some WWII history. Mobilize now without hesitation!
