Ultimately, I think this was best described as a eulogy. Basically that nobody wants to be in this situation, but it is the situation that we are in, so we have to find the way to best deal with it.

Great speech. Realistic and practical. It even earned a standing ovation.
While watching it, I kept thinking about what the speech would have been like if Pierre Poilievre had won the election. It would have been different.
