Always assumed they were going to wait for the carrier group before making any moves. Hopefully the wait time before taking action hasn’t handicapped the movement in Iran too much.
That’s the downside of moving Gerald Ford to depose Maduro, it left the Middle East without a significant naval presence. I guess the outcome of any operation will be how people judge whether or not that was a critical mistake.
