  1. I just buy Skippy in France. E LeClerc even has the no sugar added, which is my preferred one. I can’t tell the difference between the sugared and non-sugared one, and my insulin resistance thanks me for not consuming unnecessary sugar.

The real peanut butter should be 100% peanut, some brand add palm oil for texture and cost.

  3. It’s a lot more „real“ than the ones you buy in america. That’s for sure.

  4. I prefer peanut butter made of just peanuts and salt. Another pet peeve is when they use plastic packaging.

Lidl sometimes sells organic peanut butter packaged in glass.

Filipino here, but we get packages from my relatives in the U.S. and NOPE 😅 As someone who loves peanut butter, I’m shocked that peanut butter here tastes nothing like Jif or Skippy. I heard it’s not very popular, but we bought one from Coop and I barely taste the peanut at all. It’s super mild, and even the texture is different.

If you have a meat grinder, making real peanut butter is trivial, just put on the smallest plate and throw peanuts in.

  7. ehm, what are the other options? fake peanut butter? is there peanut butter without peanuts in it? if yes, what is in it? ooooor is this a question of percentages, labeling?

I think some Coop stores sell Teddie, which is made in the US and imported. Unless you object to buying a U.S.-made brand (which I understand) it’s basically the same as you could buy in the US.

The chance is way higher that the Swiss one has real peanuts inside and no corn syrup. 🙂

  10. if you’re up to making it yourself you can do it with a strong food processor, it just takes some time till the oil from the peanut gets released but you can help it out with adding just a touch of peanut oil from a bottle

you can play around with this soooo much, if you’re up to it you can even make nutella by grinding haselnuts, cacao powder( unsweetened) and sugar to your liking miam miam

  11. Swiss American here. We have plain peanut butter. Just ground peanuts too. Especially organic and in health food aisles.
