I wonder if George Lucas ever thought he’d get to see Jabba with a fake tan reminiscent of the mid 2000s.

    2. Antique_Historian_74 on

But we already have traditional British double standards, we’ve no need of shoddily constructed American hypocrisy.

    3. Tricky_Act9533 on

Fair enough, everyone knew this was going to happen when brexit happened

    4. Krabsandwich on

Well that will be hard no from Starmer if the US insist on the UK accepting all their standards, nothing like accepting chlorinated chicken, hormone fed been and synthetic chemical food colourings to lose an election in a landslide.

Probably best to just wash our hands of the entire thing and talk to Europe instead.

    5. Entirely designed to break us away from the EU, be dependent on the US and at the same time weaken Europe

Get fucked I think is the appropriate response

    6. Sod off with your crappy chicken!

Why on earth are we trying to do a trade deal with this man child, if America ever gets adults back in the room then we can talk.

    7. KinkySouthAsian on

Do you think it’s time to boycott all American companies and services, starting by closing down our Amazon, YouTube, Netflix accounts?

    8. TyphoidMurphy on

Anything other than a hard get fucked is a betrayal of the entire country.

Pivot completely back to Europe. They are the only sane option in an increasingly insane world.

    9. BobMonkhaus on

‘“We have and always will be clear that we will uphold our high food, animal welfare and environmental standards in trade deals, and negotiations will continue with both the EU and U.S. on strengthening our trading relationship,” the spokesperson added.’

They can ask all they like, we just keep saying no.

    10. Alternative_Way_2700 on

      How about no.

Or there is always the alternative and the use of a swear word or two.

    11. Less-Guest6036 on

1st stage of any negotiation on trade with the U.S. should be them getting a new president.

    12. siblingrevelryagain on

This should be thrown back at all the politicians championing Brexit for our ability to negotiate outside of Europe; this is what we knew would happen

    13. AveryLakotaValiant on

Shame there’s not a „block“ option for any communication from the US at this point, god what a freaking awful leadership that’s running that country now.

    14. Anansi-the-Spider on

The headline should really read as “Trump Administration demands UK lowers standards to inferior US levels in trade talks” why sugar coat it

    15. Awkward-Animator-101 on

I’m completely open to the US raising their standards, it’s about time they learned how things should be done.

    16. AMoonMonkey on

I know our politicians for the most part are supposed to be professional, but can Keir Starmer please tell him to “get fucked” already.

    17. Even when we were on great terms with them this was absolutely never on the cards. Now this is just another way they can piss off.

    18. cameheretosaythis213 on

Jesus Christ can we PLEASE just fuck the US off as an ally and go back to trading with Europe more.

Any Brexiteer still bold enough to admit so, please tell me, is this better? Is this what you wanted? We can just take shit from the US forever and they keep calling us “special”?

    19. I don’t know anyone from the UK that wants this. The US can keep on asking and demanding, it’s always going to be a no. We don’t want your chlorinated hormone infested chicken.

    20. Desnowshaite on

Trump’s end goal is not the price he is planning to get in the end. It is all the enemies he makes along the way.

All the prices he is to gain are ridiculous, far fetched, pointless or just simply moronic. But! Every single step he makes weakens the US, alienates it from its friends and allies and plays right into the hands of the enemies of the US, who are all publicly laugh about this situation. I am sure they can’t believe how this one moron in a few years can achieve what half the world tried to do in the last 50 years and weaken or destroy the US dominance worldwide. The cherry on the top is that he can do it in a way that Americans are actually cheering for it.

    21. When one leaves a trading block, one should have already secured the new similar-sized trading block admission terms/date **before** writing the we-quit notification to the old one

    22. South-Stand on

I prefer my chicken without the tangy zesty top notes of chlorine used to wash away the remnants of fecal matter but then I am a bit of a fussy eater

    23. A comprehensive trade partnership with the EU is worth far more than being tied into importing poor quality foods from the US.
It’s time to rejoin the EU.

    24. AceOfSpades532 on

If we’re forced to use their disgusting food I think I’m moving to Europe

    25. Given what has happened over the last week even if you want to adopt American standards it’s clear these talks should be on hold until we can trust them to do anything.

    26. frogfoot420 on

Tell them get to fuck. Had enough of this tin pot tosser and his pallete of bronzer.

    27. All we have to do is look at how Canada is being treated, a country that has always given in to US demands, so they could be prominent in their market.

Trump doesn’t really care about us, he just sees a chance to bully us, and sees Starmer as a weakling.

    28. EU is our primary buyer for exports and America’s products are substandard. Stay with European standards.

Orange fucker is already trying to raise tarrifs on us for not allowing them to invade allies what you think he’ll pull if we’re dependent on them?.

    29. 99thLuftballon on

NO WAY we are going to give up our BRITISH standards and accept these inferior FOREIGN standards from TRUMP! They want us to accept their inferior and DANGEROUS food standards. The BRITISH PEOPLE say NO to that kind of interference.

We should work as EQUALS with Europe not as AMERICA’S rubbish dump!

    30. CastleofWamdue on

Brexiteers who say sovergnity is the most important thing, will be out raged by this.

      I assume 😉

    31. Intrepid-Account743 on

Stop talking to them. Not a safe or reliable traing partner anymore.

    32. Ambersfruityhobbies on

Fuck all this. Pivot to China and improve ties with the EU. This orange guy is pure gas.

    33. kahnindustries on

„Definately, yes, thats a great idea, one of the greatest, we will do that immediately“

Continues doing everything as we always did

    34. Flashy-Raspberry-131 on

I’d give my full support to just telling America to go fuck themselves at this point. Go full no contact like you would with a shitty family member.

We should lean into strengthening relations with Europe and the EU.

    35. GreyFoxNinjaFan on

Some say that children in the US will never experience the metric system. This is false. School shooters almost exclusively use 9mm rounds.

    36. Hollywood-is-DOA on

I am not buying American beef feed with all sorts of poison. I’ll boycott any supermarket that sells it.

I’ll buy organic only chicken and beef. No way I accept or the country accepts anything that he wants but it’s all by design.

The world economic forum don’t like that the general public aren’t having world war 3, they can fight it with Drones but they want a war, with humans and they know that all wars, come with causalities.

A UN, one state government isn’t going to look good for anyone.

    37. Dump all American bonds. Kick out all American ambassadors and military personnel. No more dependence of any sort on America.

    38. IcingSausage on

I’m an American living in the U.K.

Y’all don’t want American quality over here. There is a reason why there are constant food recalls over there.

Seriously, I know the U.K. has problems, but it is a dang utopia compared to the USA. I used to go home every year or so, and it has gone down hill. And it was bad already.

But I do miss the freedom to have my child shot at school. Or the freedom to go back to work the next day after giving birth. Or the freedom to have my medicines cost the same as my mortgage.

The only thing I miss is the massive bottles of Advil. But I can go to my GP and get real pain relief, so it all works out.
