> “Truthfully, I don’t think I would’ve played Loki without that film,” Hiddleston said on a recent episode of the Happy Sad Confused podcast. “I think the way Jack Nicholson played the Joker was so… at the time in my life when I saw it, it made such an impact on my imagination.”

Loki was a good villain. Had a self-righteous , bitter , but human reason for being the way he is, he just took it too far. Jealous younger brother, not by birth, of an authoritarian ruler, who took him in partly as a power political play.
And he did try to redeem himself.
