      We dodged a bullet. While Carney isn’t my ideal PM, I’m still so much happier to have a serious-minded adult as our leader rather than someone like Poilievre who bases his policies around whatever conspiracy theories and grifts are popular with his base.

      Are there actually Canadians who think being PM is cushy? Most couldn’t handle the schedule and death threats alone, never mind the actual work.

      Say what you want about Carney, but we got the right PM for the right time. More than ever, Canada needs global partners as we have relied far too heavily on the US.

      In this case it’s true that the man makes the times – as Trump has destabilized economies and relations, but equally true that the times makes the man – as there is so much riding on Carney’s handling of Canada over the next 3 years.
