  1. French in green, Italian in blue….someone doesn’t look at maps often enough. Also, using emblems of foreign countries do the first three….i smell AI slop

    This is rage bait, right?

The Swiss fought during centuries to be free from the fangs of the various eagles around them (napoleon, Austria, Prussia, …)

I really like what is done with mountains, coz of it you can see how Italian part is cut of from the rest and connected to Italy while French and German part are completely cut of from Italy and connected with France and Germany. Also you can see how romansh speaking areas are isolated from the rest. This type of map shows really well how much geography can affect languages

Ah, yes, Switzerland, the land with four traditional languages, out of which only Romansh somehow managed to get an official status while the other three (Alemannic, Arpitan and Lombard) got replaced with the standard language of a neighboring country, at least in writing.

One would think language follows the valleys. No? How did the part in the south east end up with German instead of French?

  6. This map misses a lot of valley area, nearly the whole Engadin is missing somehow!

And the heights of the jura speak french, without people living there….

    lazy map

Why did people abandon the Franco-Provençal language in favour of modern French?

  8. Ooof, that’s going to annoy a few people by giving them the coats of arms of neighboring countries.

What the hell is Romansh? This is my first time hearing about them. Are their language related to Romanian?

never knew about this, what is the official language? do they have to make every communication piece in 4 languages? sounds like a nightmare

the valleys and mountains are mute, no one can ever go there and speak…

Why put Italian in blue and french in green, I’m not mad, just say it

Nothing like using the coats of arms of neighboring countries to represent languages of another country.

Switching the colors of Italy and France, and making Germany red instead of grey is a crime against humanity.
