      I’m pretty sure that the very stable genius didn’t even know that he can’t tariff individual EU countries, and that any threat against one country will automatically be met with a reaction from the whole Union.

      Unless this was meant as some divide and conquer move, but then he really underestimated how united Europe becomes when facing external threats like this.

      the really disheartening thing about this is that a few people will make bank on a failed U.S. economy…the dollar devalues, these people will still make buckets of cash…there is no winning, no draw, and we can’t quit the game.

      Trump is pushing the US closer to default and conservative investors cannot take the risk.

      Another downgrade of US credit is inevitable and Mad King Donnie is running amok. The USD is on a downward trajectory and Trump will exacerbate its decline.

      He is on a wrecking spree and it is truly horrifying.

      Note that, at this point, most of the world would think it a good thing if the USA collapses. The dangers outweigh the benefits even for what used to be the USA’s staunchest allies at this point. Everyone wants to see its ability to get into debt removed simply to curtail its military expenditure and thereby its threat to everyone else.

      That is just the natural outcome of the decisions the US took (especially electing an fascistic idiot to lead the country), even though everyone with half a brain warned the US about it… If people chose to ignore reality over their racism, hate and feeling of superiority, then its very hard to rescue them from the outcome of their decisions…

      Can someone explain to me why companies like Fox News continue to broadcast 24/7 pro-Trump propaganda?

      Everyone at Fox is going to lose their 401(k) by the time this all plays out. I can understand the billionaires eventually fleeing to Dubai with their off-shored wealth, but for the rank-and-file: the producers, managers, editors: what on Earth are they doing? Do they think it’s just a phase and everything will go back to normal?

      I really don’t understand. Normal rich people (millionaires and multi-millionaires, not 100-million or billion) don’t want to lose their standard of living, and they don’t have enough to flee.

      Is everyone just head-in-the-sand?

      I also keep EXPECTING it to happen based on crazy current events, but the dollar didn’t actually „sink.“ It moved within its normal range of volatility, by a few tenths of a percent.

      The big downward movement in the value of the dollar was in the first half of 2025. Since then, it’s been pretty stable. Since the beginning of January, it’s up about a percent.

      More to come. It’s sad that I live amongst people that need to learn that they are not, in fact, exceptional. But sweet baby ray’s do Americans need to learn this lesson.

      We’ll still be the leaders in the Western hemisphere once 47 is out, but things will never be as good as they once were.

      The dollar is primary because of CONFIDENCE that the US will follow its own laws transparently.

      Holding dollars meant you could invest and be 100% certain that property would be YOURS.

      Now with Trump – ALL illegality is on the table – this is DESTROYING confidence in the US and our ability to run a fair game as the ‘house’.

      This only benefits China as they want the Yuan to be primary currency without the transparency and rule of law that the US provides(d)

      I have noticed that the Republican party no longer talk about the deficit and voted to increase it. We have added over a trillion in less than a year. At this point it is just a campaign talking point.
