Behind the scenes, a handful of Trump’s former employees and staffers have been pursuing business interests involving the Arctic territory.Former employees who sought or are seeking opportunities include George Sorial, the former executive vice president and chief compliance counsel of the Trump Organization. Also in the group is Trump Organization’s former director of security, Keith Schiller, who ran Oval Office operations in the White House during Trump’s first term. Both men have an interest in company called GreenMet.

In April 2025, GreenMet announced it had inked a [strategic partnership](https://greenmet.com/press-release/greenmet-announces-strategic-partnership-with-tanbreez-to-secure-critical-rare-earth-supply/) with Tanbreez Mining Greenland A/S, a company holding a [license](https://govmin.gl/wp-content/uploads/2020/09/Exclusive-Exploitation-Licence-Tanbreez-Mining-Greenland-2020-54.pdf) to mine rare earth minerals. GreenMet described Tanbreez as the “only shovel ready rare earth project in Greenland.” GreenMet is the trade name of Greentech Minerals Holdings Inc. Sorial and Schiller appear in Washington D.C. corporate registry documents among the beneficial owners of the company, along with Drew Horn, who is listed as the CEO. Horn was an aide to Trump’s first-term vice president, Mike Pence, and was a national security official during that administration.

I mean China owns part of 12.5% of Greenland Minerals, and are involved in the Kvanefjeld project, they also indirectly own parts through proxies, i.e. ETM, an Australian with China as a shareholder.

Not to mention how China tried to „Africa“ Greenland by offering to pay for part of their airport project, with the rest being financed as a loan by Greenland from China.

The plans were approved by Greenland but Danish intelligence services brought it up to the Danish politicians who veto’d it.

  3. Of course! It’s ALWAYS about grifting when it comes to the criminal trump and his toadying “friends “.

Obviously, Trump is acting in his own interests here. We all know it. It has nothing to do with policy or security. This is Hans Gruber robbing a bank.

Almost always if someone is giving you hardball tactics you should refuse. Maybe the billionaires advising Trump see something Greenlanders don’t.

  6. If you ever catch yourself thinking it’s not about the money… it’s about the money.

    Always.

Boycott Lauder brands; Ron Lauder first suggested Trump acquire Greenland in 2018 and has commercial interests there. Besides Estee Lauder they own MAC, Le Labo, Clinique, Smashbox, the Ordinary, Bobbi Brown, etc.

American capitalism is always just one tacky destructive grift after another. Why anyone would do business with our crooked backstabbing ass is beyond me.

  10. Trump wants the U.S. to take over Greenland so he and his friends can cash in. He’s in it for personal gain.

Greenland just needs to put a tax/tariff on those minerals for non-domestic use. All the monies collected can be used for the populace there. Not for the corporate grifters and their grifting owners.
