Kings don’t need the approval of their people. They rule how they see fit. Trump doesn’t care what people think.

  2. CerealSorority on

Honestly at this stage I think his approval rating is held together with duct tape and denial.

  3. Ok-Library247 on

Getting real fucking tired of these click bait articles and approval ratings. These really don’t matter.

  4. Life_Rate6911 on

39%? That is still a bit high, if you ask me. I also find that horrifying.

  5. Aware-Chipmunk4344 on

Considering there might be excessive and even unlawful voter suppression this year, the best policy is to vote as early as possible so the interference will be reduced to the minimum.

  6. Is it 37% again? Because of all of the articles about his SHOCKING new low since he was elected last year was 37%.

  7. The fact that 39% still approve shows just how fucking cooked we are as a country.

The million dollar question is how Trump’s heavy handed immigration enforcement, foreign entanglements, and tariffs have benefited the average citizen? Most people would say things aren’t personally any worse than when Trump took office, but they are not any better. Trump claimed to be taking all these actions to. Make things better, but that appears to be a lie. Whatever happened to the Epstein files?

  9. It doesn’t really matter how his poll numbers are. The point to keep him out of office in the first place. Now he is doing the things he said he was going to do and they suck.

I don’t think it’s perilous a long as 90% of republicans support this sack of shit.

  11. I think we should ban these kind of headlines/stories here. They come out every week or so

  12. LawfulnessKooky8490 on

Hey kids this weeks word of the day is „perilous“. Last weeks word was „tenuous“… wonder what next weeks word willl be?

  13. I’ve seen some variation of this headline posted every week for the past year. Approval ratings mean nothing now.

Dictators don’t give a fuck about approval ratings. They don’t plan on relinquishing power

  15. lifeat24fps on

I don’t think the press understands that his approval rating means absolutely nothing. In fact the rights ability to fast track and ram through all their destructive policies without worrying about nuisances like approval ratings was the entire appeal of returning this man to the WH.

  16. According to a new CNN poll conducted by SSRS from January 9-12, 2026, Trump’s overall job approval rating stands at 39 percent, with almost every pillar of his presidency scoring negatively with voters overall.

It looks like he still has his base support

  17. BlurryRogue on

It’s gotten to the point where I’m tired about hearing his approval rating. Unless we can actually do something about it, like get rid of him, the fact that it’s somehow still getting lower does not seem to matter one bit.

  18. AceTheSkylord on

W reached as low as 24% when the Recession really began hitting

Until we see these numbers for Trump, nothing is changing

  19. wet_beefy_fartz on

They don’t care about approval anymore. They won the election and will do whatever they want now.

  20. MasterOutlaw on

So? It could be 0% and it wouldn’t matter because he’s already in office with no realistic way to get rid of him. The people who *could* actually do something flat out refuse to, so all we can do is hope his health and age does the job for us sooner rather than later.

  21. Thin-Competition3018 on

I hate to say it, there is no perilous point for him. He is so wrapped up in his own existence, he has no time to consider the impacts.

I also have the grim feel that he no longer looks at a future. The ballroom may not get complete, the wall was never completed and surprisingly is not a thing. ICE is not a construct for his end benefit.

Nope, this is a guy cashing in all his chips right now.

  22. BrilliantCorner on

    >Trump’s overall job approval rating stands at 39 percent,

Isn’t this where he’s been polling pretty much this entire term? Newsweek would be funny if it weren’t so fucking annoying.

  23. No-Post4444 on

Anything higher than zero is too high an approval rating for this demented asshole.

  24. VirtuaFighter6 on

Sure, perilous. Doesn’t matter one bit. He’s got all the power he needs and no one is going to stop him.

  25. Article: Trump’s overall approval rating now stands at 39%.

Every few weeks when I see this same headline I expect to hear that he’s down in low 30s, maybe even the upper 20s. But no, it’s always some number around 37-39%.

So despite hearing that it has plummeting for a solid year, the actual number has barely moved from the historical 40% that he’s generally gotten since 2016. And this to me says that we have a deeply sick culture if that many people are still supporting an administration as corrupt, incompetent, and evil as this one.

  26. OdosSolidAdventures on

He dont give a shit, the J6 insurrectionists are out, pardoned, and now getting first hand brownshirt experience with a militarized budget backing them. You think they won’t try again? And a reminder for how much damage they were able to do as an unorganized mob on Jan. 6th without much experience, now though is a little different.

  27. The_Lord_Chicken on

It’s the same fucking number that it always is. 39% is the same fucking number! Fucking bullshit media.

  28. Confident-Grape-8872 on

The fact that he had enough approval to get reelected is perilous enough
