Der US-Angriff auf Venezuela ist eine Chance, „Japan zu verändern“ – Premierminister Takaichi sollte ersetzt werden und dies sollte der Beginn der Abkehr von einem „Vasallenstaat der USA“ sein.

Japan super strict on drugs has a politician against stopping drugs and blames the current pm for keeping a positive relationship with the USA?

This is just a fringe article not even news worthy

Huh? It’s because of the US military that Japan can even hope to defend itself from China. Do people honestly think that Japan can out match China both on a population, production, and technological level on the battlefield?

Dying is easy, but living is harder and sometimes discretion is the better part of valor. The numbers are simply stacked against Japan unless they have a major economic and demographic boon for the next 10 years and are hiding some super weapons, it ain’t happening chief.

bruh, Japan ain’t shit without US protection. China would smoke you guys so quick you will reminisce about that time we dropped 2 nukes on you because China will drop 100 on you the moment we leave. You all better be grateful and don’t forget to pay us protection money

In legal terms, Japan is still a defeated nation in WWII and it has obligations to maintain as a peaceful country.

You can either be a vassal state to China or USA. Thats just the reality of the current world. There’s no shame living in reality. At least a large portion of the US adores Japan whereas China would likely be content wiping them off the map. Having your boss across the ocean, and not looming over your shoulder, also has its benefits.

Everyone ranting about the US protecting Japan forgets that this country has stabbed a number of allies in the back recently – which is why countries are questioning their relationships with them. Trump is threatening to invade an *allied* country.

Would they really come to Japan’s aid if China attacked? Or would they make a deal with China – or try and shakedown the Japanese government for cash in exchange for defending them? Or even take an island in tribute? All bets are off. Alliances are built on trust and the US has shown it is not trustworthy.

  8. Just facts : 20% of japan exports are going to the US with a 15% import tarrifs after paying 550B usd …. On the other hand , almost same amount , 18% are exported to china with average tarrifs around 7% without any other concessions .
China never attacked Japan , the US nuked twice Japan.
So why Japan is so aggressive vs China ?

If japan wants be a real nation and not a vessal state, breaking away from us control is a real path they have to think about. This is not some radical talking point, japanese are well aware of this for decades. Ironically during a time when us is violently unstable is both the most dangerous and best time to do this seriously. But money interests is too strong to over come imo. People will talk about the military defense cooperations, china threat, even xenophobia. But the real issue is the messy tangled web of money interests. Not possible to untangle from the US without just flipping the board.

  10. Sanseito is the only choice, Takaichi only represents the Neo-Cons that serves US interests. Going left is suicide as it only gives China the advantage.

If you find yourself caught between two great powers, the best strategy is to balance their influence over you as much as possible. However, Japan can only ever choose the United States. The main reason for this is not the presence of US military bases, but the fact that if Japan wants to develop closer ties with China, it cannot avoid the issue of war criminals from the World War II. Yet no one in Japan’s ruling class is willing to address this problem.

Same for Australia. I’d rather Ally with China then the US at this point.
