Is the US insane enough to attack the US because it’s on a US NATO ally’s land when the US attacks the US?
If your head hurts, you don’t have enough denial yet. Use more denial. Pretend this is all sane.

I don’t expect a Danish general to understand the nuances of American culture, so someone should tell him that the US military has no problem shooting anyone serving alongside them that does not agree with the political aims of the empire and to please Google Pat Tillman to learn more and that when he does, try to keep in mind that any references to football are going to be the gridiron variety that gets that name in the U.S.

Again, why do we have these drills in first place?

>Andersen stressed the drills were „about what’s going on in Ukraine“ and **noted he had never seen any Russian or Chinese ships near the Arctic island**
But Trump said China and Russia were circling like sharks???

It’s actually a cheeky move, because if the U.S. says no, they contradict their own argument about how important Greenland is for international security (which Trump keeps shouting about) if they’re not willing to act on it themselves.
And if they say yes, well then they give legitimacy to Denmark’s argument that the Arctic and Greenland are a NATO matter that can be handled collectively.
Edit: So many stating trump and his hooligans don’t giv a shit which is true. But all logic thinking humans can see it and thats what matters! These are som delicate diplomatic moves by a small nation that does not have a big military!

It’s a damn good thing Trump did not get his wish that all generals swear an allegiance to him. Hoping the military higher ups also stand their ground against a wannabe dictator

Very clever. They can bypass the president and speak directly to the officers

Europe is smart. This is a psychological play. They want their soldiers to intermingle with ours. They know Trump is trying to break the law.

This is actually quite clever. If the US denies, then their claim of „national security“ falls flat. If they accept, then they admit they don’t need total control of the island.

Great way to talk one on one with military leadership.

If US politicians want Greenland so bad why don’t they suit up and invade themselves? The orange buffoon can lead the charge

Things must be awkward in the NATO headquarters this week.

This is such a good disarming way to offer alms to put this whole stupid thing behind us. Like… Just say they are bolstering their defenses thanks to your threats or something. Like we can’t let this guy invade just someone give him an out that satisfies his stupid lizard brain

Training exercise is the alibi Putin used right before invading Ukraine

It would be interesting to consider a scenario where Hegseth sends illegal troops from the US mainland, but US forces in Greenland fight against those incoming troops alongside European forces.

Smart move, lure them in, give them free healthcare and citizenship and treat them well. Gradually siphon the entire US army over several such „excersises“.

I hope our European and Canadian friends know the majority of Americans value our long standing friendship and allies. There will be years of work to do in order to repair the trust but we will endeavor to get there.

The US pretty insane right now, but…
