    1. It’s a good comparison, this looks precisely like Nazi Germany did a decade before the extermination camps were in full swing.

But some people will resist the idea that they’re the same until they are literally on the train to the camp.

    2. Which is why I’m actively working on my Canadian citizenship certification. It’s likely going to get a lot worse before it gets better.

Who here thinks their number one goal is to declare a state of emergency to prevent the midterm elections this November either through civil war or Greenland war

    4. Trump is an admirer of Hitler. He kept a collection of Hitler speeches on a table.

    5. People always freak out at the Nazi comparison, but Pritzker is clearly talking about early warning signs, not saying America = 1939 Germany. History is supposed to be a lesson, not a taboo.

    6. It’s definitely hard to miss the parallels. ICE just needs to start wearing brown uniforms.

Every single one of us as individuals must do all we can to resist the rise of fascism and to protect our neighbors and friends from violence. People are being brutalized, maimed, kidnapped, and killed. Put down apathy. Put down “I can’t do anything about it.” Put down “it’s the democratic establishment’s fault, it’s trump supporters’ fault, it’s not *my* fault, because I didn’t vote for him. etc.” Instead, ask in an honest way, whose responsibility is it to make this world a better place? Well, it’s your world isn’t it? I mean, you – the one reading these words – you’re the one who has to do something about it. No one can do it but you!!!

Let’s keep working, all of us, taking responsibility for the world we making. Reflect: what am I willing to sacrifice? What am I willing to risk? What’s really important to me in my life and what do I want my actions to reflect? What is this moment asking of me? And decades from now, when asked: “how did you personally resist the trump regime”, what will I say then?

This is kinda obv to anyone who has been paying a modicum of attention. Hopefully stuff is done before it is too late, but there’s already been a lot of damage done

    9. Anyone familiar with 1930s Germany sees the similarities. It’s not subtle at all.

OK WE GET IT! trump and his cronies are the new nazis. WHAT DO WE DO NOW!? at least the people that actually have some power. Tired of all the comparisons now let’s see some damn action!

12 months behind the rest of the world, but good job catching up, I guess.

You’re a governor of a major US state. Fucking do something more than talk.

    13. It looks like Nazi germany because take a guess where they got the inspiration.

Let me guess: As a result of this conclusion he’s doing nothing about it.

Early? I feel like we’re approaching the middle. People getting shot in the streets, disappeared, sent to other countries they have no connection to including citizens. It won’t be long now until people are hiding in fucking floorboards

I mean, we’re well into the middle period of Nazi Germany now; out of the ’20s and well into the ’30s. But I’ll be glad if more people are willing to draw the obvious parallels.

Here’s the biggest difference. It’s both a pro and a con.

These Nazis don’t care what people think. They don’t care to persuade (by force or otherwise) people to be Nazi as well. The original Nazis were obsessed with getting everyone in the country to become Nazis. These people just want to eliminate the ones who aren’t in the fascist cult.

It’s a pro in the sense that there are more people to resist. It’s a con because it means they aren’t going to take as much time to get to the exterminations.

Yup. Pretty fucking weird that our country is cool with all this Nazi shit.

I mean Europeans said that all the way back in the 2016 lead up. But of course arrogant americans on here were too busy going „europoors have no clue“

Well, I guess his ex-wife was telling the truth when she said he was reading Mien Kampf every night in bed. He was studying the only subject he’s ever been interested in because it surely wasn’t the subjects at Mellon Business College. If anyone knows how WWII got started, it would be Governor Pritzker, whose family has been operating a military museum and war college for decades.

Finally someone who’s not weaselling out of it with things like ‚in danger of becoming like…‘. Early days is generous though.

    22. Many of us have been making this comparison since the first term. It’s just more obvious this time.

    23. If this is early, then the Trump regime is speedrunning the transition, arriving at concentration camps, terrorizing the people, and reaching for foreign territories in less than a year.

    24. chumbubbles on

I prefer the comparison to current day Russia and FSB (Putins private army)

    25. Resident-Coffee3242 on

Yes! And this is very serious, folks! If the US doesn’t wake up to the path it’s on, we’ll have a new Nazi state.
