      It’s France that have made the proposals interestingly that UK have rejected.

      If Putin wanted peace, there’s a very simple thing  he could do.. 

      Retreat, leave all of Ukraine and get all his troops home.

      Let’s not have any peace talks, let’s have a good old war, what’s the worst that could happen…… I’m sure all the action man cosplayers on here will be the first to volunteer for a horrific death when the UK is dragged into a war right?

      I understand Russia is not signalling they want peace, but I do think it’s important that we have dialogue. Outright rejection is somewhat outlandish & also somewhat mirroring the “no appetite for peace” approach.

      If we do collectively engage in dialogue & it flatlines, we at least know fully where we stand. We also shouldn’t be relying on the orange man to do our diplomacy.

      The man has spent decades oppressing the Russian people, and almost as long invading his neighbours – he clearly has no interest in peace, so why bother to talk to him.

      Why not hear him out? Why is everyone so scared to maybe reach a compromise. Why is everyone so hell bent on war? Feels like a design to me.

      At this point, anyone who still thinks any assurance of peaceful intentions that Putin gives is worth more than weasel spit is either a Russian asset or a 24-carat imbecile.

      It’s the right call. Someone was trying to convince me how Zack talking to Putin was the right choice…yeah, a party that wants to dismantle our nukes, talking to a liar and bluffer, I’m sure will end well.

      There’s no negotiating with him, if anyone had even a small amount of knowledge about him they’d know that.

      What I never understood is why the British media always say that the totality of Russia’s territorial demands is Donetsk and Luhansk, and Putin wants to conquer those or secure a Ukrainian withdrawal before he will have peace.

      Russia also claims Zaporozhia, Kherson and the Crimea, to the extent that it has annexed them as part of Russia according to Russian law. I have to assume the actual governments understand the difference, but why does the media act like Russia will decide the war will be done as soon as the rest of Donbas falls? Do they think the British public might lose all support for Ukraine if they thought it would drag on for even longer?
