It’s absolutely going to happen. And everyone will be shocked for some reason. But it’s the next logical step in things that have been happening. I’d even say it’s inevitable. So for the folks out there protesting in the streets, be safe.

Americans don’t recognize the state of decline because most are far too young to remember and recognize how far America had climbed from when the police fired on crowds during civil rights marches and school integration protests….

They want a theocratic dictatorship. It’s the complete antithesis to America with separation of church and state, but it’s exactly what conservatives want. Religiously sanctioned violence.

      Un-American.

I mean a crowd I guess but they have already opening fire on people.

They just haven’t run into anyone who’s tired of their shit yet.

They will and it won’t be good for anyone.

Why do you think they’re afraid of Philly.

I recently saw a scene from Handmaids Tale where two cops with machine guns emerge from behind a shield wall.  They don’t start firing immediately, but eventually they do.

Imagine reading this headline a year ago. We’d all have conniptions.

But it’s liberals and minorities so christofacist cons are not just completely fine with it, they’re damn near giddy.

    9. I wonder if they’ve ever heard of the Boston Massacre? I mean prob not, since they all likely failed history in high school.

The reason they haven’t yet – can you imagine the backlash?

I don’t disagree that it’s likely, but I am willing to bet it would be a huge mistake for them. Indiscriminately firing into a crowd will lead to massive demonstrations, and doubling down on shooting protesting crowds means full fledged revolution.

I see so many posts doomering about how Americans aren’t doing anything – stop that. Look at our brothers and sisters in Minneapolis. They are leading the charge.

There’s protesting, and there’s interfering. Don’t interfere with federal orders. it’s simple.

    12. Yet you turn on the television news and they aren’t talking about this at all, it’s absolutely unbelievable. This situation is not being treated with appropriate urgency.

Something was once written in a famous document that went something like ‚right to bare arms in an organized militia‘ as a check to prevent unchecked government abuse of power. I can’t remember what that document is.

      Can someone help me out?

Obviously /s. I know, you know, they know…stay safe out there good people!

    14. Yes, and I predict no one will seriously respond to it until the third or fourth massacre.

Ya notice how Trump didn’t stop a single death in Iran?!? He’s gonna kill dozens if not hundreds in the next week. Impeachment Now.

    16. We’re getting close to Pol Pot’s purges. If you’re liberal, college-educated, lgbtq, a minority, or simply know how to read, expect to be a target.

    17. I honestly don’t see a revolt happening until then, citizen or goverment. It will take a mass casualty event to galvinize resistance against the Trump Regime.

    18. Bad article title, when and if it does happen, we can appeal to instances in our own history like Kent state or World War Two interment, and many more more remote instances where the government has actively killed or taken action against citizens. There is no reason to compare America to Syria, or to say this hasn’t happened before, or has no precedent in American history. If we want to go full spectrum there are plenty of analogous events from the civil war, reconstruction, the revolutionary war, conflicts with native Americans and so on.

I wish the new republic would occasionally turn the descriptive dial down from 11 so that it actually has an impact when they do.

It’s coming. Hopefully for the sake of the people gunned down (and really the sake of every decent person in the country) it will be the actual turning point.

    20. The main problem conservatives have with the Islamic Republic of Iran is they are the wrong religion and ethnicity, and oppose American geopolitical interests. Many conservatives don’t oppose the regime substantially

My takeaway from all the rhetoric I’ve seen is Liberals want our Gov’t Programs like ICE and DHS to be as useful as a security guard at Wal-Mart. Tell shoplifters „NO“ but if they keep walking all the guard can do is watch.

That’s because when you elect leaders with the mindset of third world leaders (remember most third world countries are very right wing), you get third world elements.
