Bereits im Dezember 2024 reichte eine Gruppe von 38 Wissenschaftlern (darunter Nobelpreisträger) einen Artikel ein Wissenschaft fordert einen völligen Stopp einer bestimmten Art von Forschung.
Die Medien haben es kaum berührt, wahrscheinlich weil es kompliziert ist, aber das Wesentliche ist erschreckend.

Im Grunde ist alles Leben auf der Erde so "Linkshänder" (L-Aminosäuren). Es ist ein geschlossenes System. Wissenschaftler synthetisieren jetzt "Rechtshändig" Organismen von Grund auf. Es handelt sich im Wesentlichen um eine außerirdische Biologie, die mit unserer Biosphäre völlig unvereinbar ist

Eine Spiegelzelle ist gegen jedes bekannte Virus auf der Erde immun, da Viren die Spiegelbiologie nicht infizieren können. Für Big Pharma und Industriegiganten bedeutet das: "Virensichere Fabriken." Es erspart ihnen Milliarden an Kontaminationsverlusten.
Sie riskieren die gesamte Biosphäre, nur um die Produktion billiger zu machen.
Die Wissenschaftler forderten ein Verbot, aber glauben Sie wirklich, dass die Industrieriesen zuhören werden, wenn so viel Geld auf dem Tisch liegt?

If mirror-biology organisms ever escaped a lab, the most likely outcome is that nothing dramatic would happen at all. They would almost certainly die quickly because Earth’s environment is chemically incompatible with them: our nutrients, enzymes, sugars, and metabolic pathways are the wrong “handedness.” Even in a worst-case escape, they would remain confined and dependent on synthetic lab feedstocks, unable to spread, infect humans, or interact meaningfully with ecosystems. The immune-system and “green goo” scenarios assume compatibility that simply doesn’t exist. The real concern scientists raise isn’t imminent catastrophe, but a far-future hypothetical—that if mirror life were someday engineered to be fully self-replicating and metabolically independent, it would require unprecedented containment rules. Right now, the risk is theoretical, distant, and heavily constrained by basic chemistry.
If it scape, it will dominate the world and, after billions of year, a new sentient mirror-life form will rule this world. Also, Earth, Moon and the Sun will be here. Just humanity will be past. So, no motives to worry /s
After coming across this mirror life thing a few months back, and actually learning about it, its safe to say it wouldn’t be able to interact with what we know as life, our normal, none mirror life. Gotta stop the fear mongering dudes.
