    building code for keeping heat out, not in, and here we are. Even in some new buildings I have visited, windows are installed poorly and lets trough air. Imagine with ones built 15-20-30 years ago

    Pougiota is the best answer. Keeps warm throughout the night. Boil a kettle once, best thing for sleeping. Trust me bro.

    I believe that the innovation of poured concrete inside moulds for buildings was actually invented in Cyprus. But most buildings don’t have insulation and is just concrete. A separate issue is I think in a lot of buildings they use sea water to mix the concrete which causes the crystallisation that secretes through the concrete. Then one quarter of the year it’s cold so no central heating because most of the time air-conditioning is the main source of temperature control. I

    I’ve rarely been inside a house in Cyprus in winter that felt warm. The houses are built with complete disregard of what makes a house feel warm, i.e. elimination of drafts (drafts from outside the house or from unheated parts of the house).
