People sometimes ask why these folks quit instead of staying to sabotage things. First, a lawyer has an ethical obligation to zealously represent their client, even if their client is batshit bonkers. And secondly, quitting is actually a huge pain in the ass for everyone left in the office; *all* the cases they were in the middle of have to be picked up by someone else partway through. Even the ones with court appearances the very next day, in front of the grumpiest judge on the federal bench, who never gives any attorney an ounce of leniency.
Bondi should be disbarred. It’s that simple, but not going to happen.
