They’re a fuckin nightmare.
And now specsavers is encouraging us to buy glasses to lessen the glare!! Surely it’s up to car manufacturers to make cars safe?
Most lights are way too overpowered, especially on newer cars over the last 5 years. It’s insane
“And of course his was a Range/Land Rover”
What’s that supposed to mean, the owner of the vehicle is hardly responsible for the manufacturers choice of lights.
Agreed though they’re poxy.
Yep, they are incredibly dangerous. Fuck knows what the government will do about it and when.
I thought I was looking at a still from the film „Close Encounters of the Third Kind“
The government needs to introduce a maximum amount of lumens light output
I have a light sensitivity as is so they’re a pest, but fuck me when you get anything that’s higher off the ground than a saloon and it’s behind you.
I feel like I’m watching a nuke being detonated behind me. Have had to pull over countless times to let these cunts past or I’d be blinded
Time for a spray campaign. Turn them as yellow as French headlights used to be.
I got blinded last night by fucking bright green ones, that’s a new one.
Wouldn’t a Skoda Kamiq have bright headlights ❓
Have a newer car myself, 3 year old that I bought recently. I’ve been flashed / full beamed by drivers coming towards me a bunch of times now while on dips. Had the alignment checked just in case. I won’t resort full beams in response just to tell some randomer I’m on dips but can totally understand how they feel.
And the fucking cunt is so far up your hole too. I’d be inclined to get out to ask him if he wants you to open the boot for him.
What lunatics drive about with these they genuinely blind you Guantanamo Bay interrogation on the motorway, mad world haha
They definitely need to be much more seriously regulated.
There’s also a major problem with some of the ultra bright LED arrays – a % of the population is also far more dazzled by them and get after images of dots / shapes of the lights after they look away.
You should get a bigger car and wouldn’t have such an issue and waste people’s time whinging here…
Super dangerous I despise them
Are you sure that isn’t just full beams and the driver is an idiot? I know some new car dipped beams can be bad but I swear I never saw something this bad
This looks more like high beams or misaligned lights, or both.
Spend a lot of time driving at night and the toll it has taken on my eyes is noticeable
Has anyone invented something that if the person behind you has high beams on you press a button and a mirror in the back shines it straight back at their eyes! 🤔
Your supposed to fully dip headlights in built up areas, if there is adequate street lighting, dip your lights if your on dark roads raise them
I fucking hate them whenever I drive past someone with them I flash my lights at them thinking they have them on full and then they do the fucking SAME
Definitely should be illegal. The legislation needs to catch up. Our government will do nothing, so we will have to hope Europe does.
I’ve only gotten my license there about a month ago but the biggest shock to me is how when driving on wet, unlit roads, at night, against on coming traffic with their dipped headlights on, just how little you can see and how much you just have to „wing it“. There’s so much glare and sunglasses don’t help since its dark out making it impossible to see anything else…
And then you have one of these fuckers coming against you full blast and it may as well be the light of the lord with the crash their about to cause.
Well they’re not.. So stop whinging and suck it up
Can anyone recommend non prescription driving glasses that will help with this. At the moment I have adjusted my rear view mirror and wing mirrors (at the expense of the visibility) and for oncoming traffic it has gotten to the point that on some small roads where cars travel pretty fast it’s just look away and hope for the best!
Used to love driving around at night, hate it now.
I was IN FRONT of a car yesterday evening driving home from work and I can only presume their Autodim function was fucked. Every time a car coming towards us went passed us, their full headlights would come on. This must have happened 7 or 8 times on a 3 mile stretch.
It took them a while to figure out why I kept flicking my rearview mirror at them.
Does the kamiq not come with led lights too?
if your camera can get their number plate it’s not that bright
I swapped out halogens for led’s the other day, noticed my light level scroll was far too high could be the case with a lot of these blinding drivers.
Surely that’s full beams??
I do find Range Rovers to be the worst offenders. The number of times I’ve thought someone is driving with their brights on…then it passes and you realise it’s just a Range Rover.
Agreed.
I rode a motorcycle and those mfs have bery nearly made me crash more times than I can count. And they are always left in too, always blinding.
I had a Mercedes van behind on the M2 this evening with LED eyes which were winking and making facial expression. This kind of thing. Incredibly distracting.

It’s genuinely becoming impossible for me to drive outside of urban areas at night. The LED lights are so bright. My eyes are quite sensitive to light and I have stigmatism. I’m honestly blinded by oncoming traffic if they have those lights.
If they were self levelling, had a cleaning function that was actually used and heating element it would go a long way to helping.
Look at the amount of grime on headlights that diffuse the light when your out.
Someone behind me on the motorway yesterday morning had one of those cars that’s supposed to dim the lights a bit depending on if there’s cars ahead.
Theirs was broken and basically caused the headlights to flash rapidly.
And people are still surprised by the amount of casualties on the roads. Whenever I encounter drivers with their high beams on, I wonder if they think its ok to be safe by blinding other road users.
I’d be more concerned with that lack distance! And they look like high beams. Wankers
I drive a 2016 mini – I bought a De Walt version of these – I posted it before and it seemed to help a lot of commenters 👌

NCT keeps pushing the lights to be higher too,so they’re brighter & set higher than 10 years ago. I’m literally blinded,no way I could drive at night anymore
Time for my usual SUV lukewarm take:
If I was dictator for a day I’d immediately ban those Stupid Ugly Vehicles.
Everyone else would have a bit easier time parking, would be safer for pedestrians, and would be safer for other drivers too, as seen by this post.
Ye lads that buy these things, either get a proper utilitarian vehicle if you have so many kids/cargo, a Minivan. And no, these landboats are not sporty either. If you want that, get a proper sports car. If you can’t afford having a second car for sportier drivers, too bad, don’t be a poser. If you really must, there are much better estate cars that are much better to drive while you have the kids in the back
A lot of people just put in a bulb, without getting the lights adjusted after
