Remember when she admitted guilt, people like to forget that.
Perhaps if she took a bit more care to avoid breaching the conditions of her early release then the probation service wouldn’t be considering recalling her? No doubt the right wing rags will seize the opportunity to mischaracterise this story to push the same tired narratives that garner outraged clicks
Lets remember after getting into trouble for her initial posts on social media, she continued to post saying „she was going to play the mental health card“ & stating she planned to keep on working illegally pretty much destroying any courtroom defence.
It would be best for everyone, most especially herself, if she stayed off social media for a while.
It’s most likely not solely about those tweets. In December, Lucy went on a major rant falsely accusing a local journalist of „doxxing“ her – he did not. When you are convicted of a criminal offence, it’s standard practice to list a partial address. She called him a „lefty little Marxist c##t ran a story about my release. Logan spent the whole time I was in jail attacking my husband and his position as a councillor.“ The tweet went viral, and he had to lock his account. I imagine his editor had some words with her probation officer. Nor has the journalist been charged; he’s still working and publishing articles.

If you’re literally on probation for attempting to incite mass-murder via social media, of course they’re going to be more sensitive to what you post on it.

Let’s be honest – if you’re released under a certain set of conditions and you are stupid enough to break them, then you should expect to go back to prison.

Whether you like Lucy Connelly or not, you should not be imprisoned for words on social media UNLESS you imprison EVERYONE including those tweeting about killing white people.
It’s genuinely hard to feel sympathy when she’s openly admitted guilt and then doubled down by planning to game the system. The repeated social media posts just show a complete lack of remorse or understanding. She really needs to log off and focus on actually complying with the law.
I dont agree we should go around putting people in prisons for nasty words as then we would have be too many people going to be in prisons. However context matters. She was arrested at a time where there were riots, where people of color were in danger. A lot of these riots were started with social media nasty words. The country was at a state where tbings were spiralling out of control. So I beleive at this period it made logical sense to use her as an example to calm the riots. It was a way of people being more careful with Internet usage where there was a chance for riots to be stopped. Imagine if they were not harsh in this period and everyone was free to say things like let’s burn this place down etc the posts would never stop and the riots wpuld have kept on going. So context matters a lot, and we need to think logically.

Her husband was one of the first COVID patients to be in the paper. The councillor in London who said let’s go and do right wingers but didn’t get jailed was also a high profile COVID patient. Also, LC who had a full time job was sending tens and tens of tweets a day. Wake up g fck up people, it’s all false to create divisions.

A friend of mine, criminal barrister, once told me NEVER tell the police anything. Just “no comment”. Offer no Alibi or anything.
The police/prosecution then don’t knew what you will say in court, and that frightens them. They have no statement from you, nothing.

You really need to be a special kind of stupid to be jailed for stirring up racial hatred, and calling for violence against people of a different skin colour at a time of national riots…. To then proceed to use your social media account to repost a social media comment calling for the removal of Keir Starmer as U.K. PM in the manner in which Maduro was removed as President of Venezuela. She is on licence (Probation) so if she breaks the terms of said Licence. Then back to prison for her!

Why is she back on X? It’s clearly not a good place for her to be. Prison taught her nothing.
It’s worth reading the judge’s sentencing remarks when he sent her down. It wasn’t just because of what she’d done on social media but there were multiple aggravating factors regarding her private messages saying she was going to ‚play the mental-health card‘ and saying that she’d only put up the apology to save her arse and so on.
It was her lack of remorse and lying that made her sentence long.
I’d like to think she should go back inside, but she’d just end up being a marty for the right and we’d never stop having to look at her/hear from her.
