  1. >Ukraine remains the clearest example of a war of aggression, while parts of Georgia (Abkhazia and South Ossetia) and Moldova (Transnistria) continue to be partially occupied, frozen conflicts that Moscow uses to maintain leverage over its neighbours.

  2. Funny how “imperialism” always depends on who’s holding the marker and who’s making the map.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you, anti-imperialist Russia and China.

  4. Feel like belarus needs a special category, its practically a russian protectorate

  5. Why is Venezuela yellow, when it should be red on a US-focused imperialism map?

  6. I’m so glad my country’s president would most certainly oppose such Russian overreach like it has advertised itself for the past century and would never align himself with Putin for the sake of „keeping us out of unnecessary wars“ whilst pulling us into legitimately unnecessary wars.

It’s Russian imperialism, not just Putin. Moldova was occupied way before Putin. Also, nobody calls US invasion in Iraq „Bush war“, right?

Venezuela and Syria no more. Outdated map. Hope Ukraine will be grey again:

  9. Moldova thinks that they are free, that they are suverwign government. Tell me, what russian army, is doing in moldova? They can advance an attack from there as well, at any moment

  10. Sorry but what’s the definition of imperialism here. I feel there is a difference between support of Putin for Venezuela and war in Ukraine. In case of Ukraine it does not look like Putin even demands control over the whole country, so shouldn’t the map only show territories he claims as belonging to him?

Unfortunately, all roads end in Ukraine. They did real good against Chechnya separatists back in the 90s. They did Insane against the invisible Army in Crimea. Sadly, you can see with a pair of binoculars, the entire Russia front since 21, they’ve made less than 30 miles of gains…

  12. This map is missing „interfering in elections by exacerbating division and social unrest through fake news propagated by bots“.

This would be affecting all Europe, especially Brexit and the US.

Russian imperialism just like the US is worldwide and it’s naive to pretend otherwise.

Russia spreads propaganda aggressively across European countries with the goal of dividing us. In places like Italy, Spain, and even Germany, there are significant numbers of pro-Russian voices or so-called “neutral” positions regarding the Ukrainian genocide, including within political institutions.

Russia also instrumentalizes countries from the Global South against Europe — such as Algeria or Iran — and uses migration through Belarus as a weapon contributing to illegal migration (syrians, indian/paki….) pressure on countries like Poland.

At the same time, we notice that Russia sends people from Africa, North Korea, and Central Asia to fight on the Ukrainian front. Many of these populations comes from pro-Russian or anti-Western countries and are manipulated into believing they are fighting against an “EviL WeSt 🤪” when in reality they are being used as expendable tools in an imperial war.

  14. You forgot about Asia. They still occupy the northern parts of Japan. They never returned it since WW2.

  15. Wagner group in South Africa? First I’ve heard. ANC is friendly with Russia, sure, but I’m fairly sure there are zero boots on our ground

Alleged involvement in coup attempts = democratic elections being crushed by EU elites over local national elites.
