      Denmark and Greenland have clapped back at Donald Trump’s latest power grab, emerging from a White House meeting to call him out for lying and rebuke his push to seize the island as “totally unacceptable.”

      Hours after Trump ramped up pressure to acquire Greenland, foreign ministers from the two nations accused the president of making up “a narrative” about China potentially seizing Greenland to justify America’s desire to acquire it first.

      The comments came hours after Trump put out an incendiary post insisting that the U.S. “needs Greenland” for national security.

      “NATO should be leading the way for us to get it. IF WE DON’T, RUSSIA OR CHINA WILL, AND THAT IS NOT GOING TO HAPPEN!” he wrote on Wednesday.

      We are going to invade a NATO – breach a treaty in the worst way imaginable, worse even than the breach of the Molotov Ribbentrop pact – because trump’s feelings?

      This is fine with millions of Americans? I mean NATO needs to sober up real quick and realize they have nukes that are useless without the resolve to actually use them. From what I know the only thing MAGA fears is unleashing ww3 by not appeasing Putin.

      We already know that Trump was lying because he’s a dirty,filthy and compulsive liar and he wants to take Greenland so he can steal all of their natural resources,exploit the people and he’s also hellbent on Global domination,the Danish and the residents of Greenland have already said no countless times and Canada has also told him no so he seriously should just STFU and go away.

      He periodically brings up needing these resources for the “Golden Dome” which is utterly ridiculous. Israel’s “Iron Dome” is necessary for the defense of Israel because the country is literally surrounded by countries firing missiles at them with regularity. Can’t say that I recall many missiles being lobbed at the US by Canada and Mexico…

      I know this isnt the most important thing by a long shot, but the reason Greenland is strategically more important now is that the Arctic is melting in the summer opening up the Northwest Passage for shipping. This never used to happen before climate change. Climate change that Trump denies exists!

      It’s obvious he’s been told about some plan or idea for major powers to divide up the world, and that is why he is parroting this idea of potential ownership of Greenland being a threat to US, and also why they have been pushing this idea that we need control of the western hemisphere. When it’s really inconceivable in our current reality that either of those countries would try to take Greenland.

      It’s terrifying to think that if they had chosen an any more competent figurehead, then their intentions would be much better hidden. It’s also terrifying how, even when they have idiots telling the world of their plans, that nothing is being done about it.

      We shouldn’t forget Venezuela. It was all fentanyl, drugs, fentanyl, drugs, drugs, drugs. Boats were being blown up that allegedly had drugs on them. Drugs!

      Then Venezuela’s leader was abducted and the US has done no work to reduce any alleged drug trade, but Trump has forgotten that Venezuela has drugs at all – it’s just oil!

      Day 2 of any US takeover of Greenland and it would be the same – no more talk of Russian or Chinese attacks, as of course, mighty USA dissuaded them! Now Trump can talk about what he wants from Greenland – minerals that he needs dug up, and he’ll be on Trump Social asking for handouts from his base, to help him personally go mine the country.

      Denmark is *in* NATO. It was a founding member for Christ’s sake.

      If he busts up NATO over this, it will be absolutely crippling. We share intelligence with a crapload of NATO countries. (And not just the Five Eyes ones either). They are absolutely fundamental to our success.

      This would be cutting off our nose, lips, ears and cheeks to spite our face.

      EDIT: Meanwhile all we needed to do was sidle up to Denmark and say “‘Sup bro?? Do you mind if we build a few more bases on Greenland?” And dollars to donuts they would have said sure because they figure we were trying to protect them from Russia or listen into Russian signals or something.

      Now, they wouldn’t give us a cup of ice from Greenland….and I don’t blame them one bit.

      If Russia or China attack Greenland… then NATO would collectively defend it. So… the US would defend Greenland. I’m confused.

      From a history standpoint this sounds weirdly like when President US Grant was absolutely rabid to annex Santo Domingo. Nearly everyone else in government couldn’t understand why he was dying on that particular hill, and the situation made Grant look a bumbling political novice.

      Not that Trump cares but the president ordering the US military to invade Greenland without 2/3rds congressional approval would be pretty much a direct violation of Section 1250A of the 2024 National Defense Authorization Act. Just another impeachable offense that will likely be ignored by Congress.
